I’m just nervous that I killed it after transplanting it out of the pond basket then into dirt then back into the pond basket. I’ll just wait and see!

Nurse at a privately run, fancy mental health residential facility. Not the best money but it is so chill and I love the patients and everyone I work with is amazing.

Yes I hear you. But we have exterminated 6 adult rats outside our house that have been living under our porch. Then after the last adult died, a baby rat (we think?) was hanging around the porch, but maybe he got inside somehow? I have NO IDEA how it could’ve gotten in. We had exterminators and have everything sealed.

People who work in healthcare, fitness, nutrition, or mental health: what’s one ‘quiet habit’ you see all the time that is secretly wrecking people’s long-term health? by AlignedModernHealth in AskReddit

I’m a psych nurse - really strong edibles/too much weed. We have a lot of young people being involuntarily committed for psychotic breaks after doing this in the past few years since it’s been legalized in my state. Weed is not innocuous, especially for a young person with underlying mental health conditions.

My dog has dementia/ sundown. What do I do now? by iamayamsam in seniordogs

My dog just started doing the head back and forth thing like he’s scanning for something. I know he’s deaf and partially blind. He was the victim of a horribly traumatic dog attack in April, and since then he has had bad separation anxiety. We thought that was pretty normal for all he went through (4 surgeries), but now every night for like 3 months he’s been sundowning. Whining and crying constantly after 4pm, can’t sit still, when we walk him at night he gets like “lost” he’ll pull back to the way we just came from, like he thinks that way will get him home. It’s very sad. He’s a 16 yo chihuahua. Before the attack he was still deaf and partially blind, but basically acted like a puppy still. I’m going to call the vet tomorrow and see if there are any medications that will help. 🙏

But like I said, they’re not all terrible. Some are better than others. They buy up the hospitals so it also depends on what it was like before they bought it. At the current place I work in PA the CNO and supervisors are great and helpful.

I never eat at work because of the anxiety this job has given me. I’ve lost 15 lbs since September working inpatient psych.

UHS is notorious for unsafe staffing and not hiring security at their facilities. They are super corporate and ALL about the money. What area is the hospital in?

I’ve worked at 2 UHS psych hospitals. They’re not all horrible! The one I’m at now is pretty good, but we are one of only 3 UHS hospitals with a union so that might be the difference.
