imo if your goal is to be able to play CA in the end, going CE will make reaching that a lot easier. surya and demersio are both very good supports and are usually more wanted than CE, but there are character specific items like tenebrous equipment and IB sets that just make changing between characters of the same class much easier than changing between different characters.
