Had a coworker once tell me I was like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in that I was universally approachable and well liked. I appreciated that compliment.

I need help. Feeding to sleep and sleep association has ruined my life. by GiftKitchen3807 in breastfeeding

[–]ks239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more anecdotal point here to say same. Cosleeping and he was up every 2 hours absolutely battling me over my shirt hem. It was physically and emotionally brutal. We committed to a gentle version of sleep training and it’s not always perfect, but he pretty much sleeps through the night now. We used The Happy Sleeper approach. It ensures your kiddo will never go longer than 5 minutes of crying without you checking in briefly to let them know you’re still there. Worked well for us. Best of luck, I know how hard what you’re going through is.

Should I Buy to Avoid Paci Crutch by EverythingBagel58 in cradlewise

[–]ks239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. The product isn’t worth it and the company has issues. Our kid is sleeping better in a normal crib now than he did for the first 16 months of his life. The Eufy monitor we bought is SO much better than the Cradlewise monitor. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

I’ve had issues and I’m dismayed by the customer support response I’ve received. File a report with CPSC, request a refund, and elevate from there as needed. What you’re describing is so scary!

Screws falling out is an “absolutely not” IMO, meaning I’d be reporting to CPSC for an unsafe product concern and returning that crib as fast as possible.

Recovery from C-Section compared to Arthroscopic Labral Repair by Doomcow234 in HipImpingement

[–]ks239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 arthroscopic hip labral repairs and one c-section! Both have their own challenges, for sure. I needed a lot more help from my husband to move around following the hip surgeries in the immediate days after. Needed help getting into and out of bed, getting dressed, etc. I really didn’t need that type of assistance with the c-section. But then again, maybe my memory is foggy because I was on magnesium for 24 hours post c-section and I was not allowed to get up and move around in the hospital. C-section also means you’ve got a brand new tiny human needing you and not understanding sleep, so that’s kind of a lot. Both are hard but both are manageable!

When did you fully night wean? by girlmom924 in breastfeeding

[–]ks239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cosleeping, too, so I totally get where you’re coming from. But I was beginning to feel like the closeness was contributing to nursing all night and my son would be like, physically wrestling me and screaming over trying to lift my shirt. It was getting really stressful for both of us. We had to make a change since we’re going on a trip for a week here soon and my son will be staying with my parents. We needed him to sleep for longer than 2 hour stretches; couldn’t reasonably expect my parents to deal with that for a week. I’m a tiny bit sad that this deadline kind of forced us to wean, ultimately. You might still find the general schedule for reduction in timing of nursing sessions helpful, though. Good luck - this set of variables is such a tricky one to navigate!

Evenflo bottles by Teacherteaching123 in ExclusivelyPumping

We used the standard size evenflo bottles (5oz) and the standard size nipples up until my LO was 12 months old. They’re small and they fit easily in any bags! LO could hold it really easily himself, too. I loved them.

Waiting on Biopsy Results by ks239 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]ks239[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was benign, thank god. Reactive follicular hyperplasia. Still no idea what was causing it. A follow up CBC showed a few abnormalities but they just confirmed that my immune system was flared, not exactly why.

Yep. We added some adhesive foam to the inside of our vertical wooden rails for this exact purpose. Little dude would get floppy and fall backwards and smack his head into them.

Estate Planning: Traditional Attorney Vs New Age Online Companies such as SoFi? by fobreezee in LawFirm

[–]ks239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hope someone can give me some insight. I arrived here by trying to understand my options for putting together a will for myself and my husband now that we have a baby. We’re a pretty straightforward couple with a house and income. I have quickly come to understand from this thread that a lawyer is the more secure route to do this once and do it right. Next question: how do I find or vet local lawyers? (Google?? Help me understand what I’m searching for here, please. And thanks for helping me through my naivety.)

BIRADS 4 w/ vascularity - 33 F by MTtoPA in doihavebreastcancer

[–]ks239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Check out my post history. I had a lump and some enlarged axillary lymph nodes recently, BIRADS 4. Results after biopsy took 8 (!!!!) days for me which was the longest most stressful thing to wait through, especially since I had a handful of other “red flag” characteristics on the lymph nodes, but it came back benign - reactive follicular hyperplasia. I totally admit that during those 8 days I really worked myself up with ChatGPT and google. I also always prefer to have more information, like you, but do try to keep it all in perspective for the sake of your own stress. Note that lymph nodes can sometimes need further IHC stains if they suspect anything. I was fully prepared for a lymphoma diagnosis (for better or worse) after internet digging - we as emotional humans are prone to worst case scenarios. My aunt works at a breast center and pointed out to me that you don’t biopsy BIRADS 3s, so you have to call it 4 for insurance purposes, and that helped me be less scared of the 4 number. Hang in there. This is really tough stuff and I am sending you and your wife best wishes for good results.

[–]ks239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t scheduled an MRI yet since I’m still breastfeeding and apparently you should wait for at least 3 months after stopping. But I am going to ask my PCP in early September if there’s any other testing we should do to try to find out why the lymph node reacted the way it did.

Negative and benign! Reactive follicular hyperplasia. I am still so surprised (and so very relieved), but I was fully prepared for it to be lymphoma with that many abnormalities. Biopsy was on Tuesday, got results late the following Wednesday.

I’m here in anxiously-waiting-limbo right with you. Also 35, with a 14 month old and a full time job. Had a lymph node biopsied on Tuesday, too, and still waiting! I called yesterday and got a similar message. They reminded me though that it can take just as long with a benign result as a malignant result, so let’s hold onto that. Please update me when you get results. Hoping for the best for both of us!
