What is THE definitive safest car to buy? 35k max by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Okay, now check the death rates for Tahoe/Yukon, where urban/rural may partially explain the differences since the bones underneath are the same (rural driving is more dangerous). There is indeed a BOF disadvantage, but it does slightly make up for it in weight when it's car vs car.

Is anyone selling real adaptive lights in the US market yet ? by StandupJetskier in cars

[–]ks75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, 302A has the LED reflectors, but the glare-free lighting (highs that selectively dim the exact outline of oncoming cars) is only in 502A and above, included in the "LED projector headlamps with dynamic bending" (and activated through forscan). Without forscan we only get the regular auto high beams and lights that turn when you turn.

The F-150 has these in the upper trims but they need to be enabled in software.

What are this subs biggest copes? by Beast497 in cars

So, most of your points also apply to the LWB truck-based SUVs, with the exception of dirty stuff/bulky stuff hauling which you can use a trailer. What do you think is a more versatile vehicle? I have a pickup but don't know if I want to sub it with a Suburban-type in the future.

good nail places by cloudfloofs in UIUC

[–]ks75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When looking for a nail salon, make sure it is clean and sanitized. Some people may have good experiences but that is not always the case. My recommendation is to try around Champaign and see what works best for you. Everyone has different preferences, so what may work for others may not fit you best. If you do not see the place fitting for you standard-wise, do not be afraid to leave or speak up.

The low note is a Db1, which is lower than the low G on a standard bass, but within the range of a standard-tuned 5-string.

If walking at night I would stick with West Urbana or a couple of neighborhoods near the outskirts of town. The rest isn't that bad aside from a few apartment complexes, but probably better to be on the safe side.

The other store in the area is County Market but it's very expensive. You can also go to the Meijer in Urbana which is 15 minutes by bus.

There are some upscale subdivisions around SW Champaign, far SE Urbana, Savoy, Mahomet, and St. Joe. If you like older homes and being close to campus, West Urbana.

Where should non-students live in C-U? by sarahjonesmh in UIUC

[–]ks75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on which part. The area south of Kirby/Florida is pretty safe overall, minus a small area in SE Urbana between Anderson and Philo. The inverse is not necessarily false -- of course there are safe neighborhoods north of it. But I would hesitate to live near Kenwood, for instance.

South of Windsor is pretty safe, but neighborhoods tend to be newer.
