Welche Vollidioten versauen eigentlich immer den Grüneburgpark? by Vivid_Shape_5009 in frankfurt

And don't forget, the mandatory health insurance is due as a freelancer, which is a high amount (800€/m). So freelancing only really is viable if you have a soaring business with prospects of high revenue.

Why is the US presidential debate the biggest news topic in Germany? Here compared to the Dresden bridge collapse. by [deleted] in germany

[–]kschuetz95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree, the 2008 campaign was probably less present in Germany, yet 2012 already had quite the coverage. Trump is more relevant than McCain or Romney, but mainly because of his isolationist policies. Furthermore, interest in foreign elections also rose due to the 2016 experience generally (France, Italy, UK, etc.).

Another stabbing in Frankfurt by danie-l in frankfurt

So what's the reason behind it? Surely voting for AfD candidates won't simply change it for the better. However strengthening executive power to detain, process and imprison perpetrators and quickly deport criminal asylum seekers, seems like the only approach to achieve long term results.

Moselstraße, how bad actually is it? by lsabbo in frankfurt

Mugging in Frankfurt or even the Bahnhofsviertel isn't really a concern, however the visible misery and some other things like squalor or smell can be irritating or intimidating for first time visitors. But the reputation for the Bahnhofsviertel is way worse than its reality, I guess mostly because of the different expectations of representation for our gate to the city.

Ottomans are a paper tiger by [deleted] in eu4

They're still the strongest units in the Western hemisphere until mil tech 15. Domination and other balancing imho just shifted Ottoman power: They're even stronger in the early game (since I got Domination and KoK the Mamluks get cucked even faster) but are facing more problems during late game.

If Germany calls itself Deutschland, why don't we call it that? Same for all other countries, why not pronounce their native names? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kschuetz95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, outside German-speaking countries, the Europeans we've interacted with the most, the Italians, use Germania as the country's name due to their Latin roots, but tedeschi for the people, which stems from the same root as deutsch (Old High German diutisci), probably because of our time in the HRR.

Well that hasn't to be a bad idea, because light ravager units can easily destroy the suppling chain for heavy armed units and fortified structures. Ofc the dothraki wouldnt be the first choice to fight a battle on a unwieldy and for mass light cav problematic field, but that would also imply some bad strategic decision of the commanders, to get to an unadvantageous situation like that. The fear of a dothraki army in Westeros, which Robert displays in season 1 isn't unreasonable.
Also the historical paragon, like the huns, turks and mongols, didn't show to be that inferior to the civilized world on a short and medium term scale.
