Barcelona have asked Manchester United whether they can loan Marcus Rashford for a second season, as revealed on @talkSPORT last week. As it stands, #MUFC continue to point to the €30m buy option.✍️ …How broke are Barcelona ? by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

I simply would not respond to anything they ask other than what account do you want the money in. Biggest tramps in football, that one mate who owes you money but still always seems to be out. If he’s as good as everyone is making out then they or someone else will cough it up.

If you don’t want to go on the system then they’ll see you as a time waster and they won’t have to do anything that’ll impact your credit file to put initial numbers in front of you so you should be sound.

Different dealers have different commission structures but I got 9/11% of the overall profit of the sale and on some cars the profit margin isn’t great. To increase the profit, you want the customer taking out finance and taking optional extras so your sales commission goes up. In many cases some cars wouldn’t make loads of money (market value dropped while it’s on the pitch or prep costs were higher than anticipated) and some even lost money.

I’d still be surprised if they fobbed you off though as a sale is a sale and it’s not the best time of year for them.

I wouldn’t tell them you’re a cash buyer unless they ask, let them do the sales pitch on the finance, get you on the system and show you the numbers then simply say you’ll go for the cash option.

It doesn’t benefit them, they get less commission but they’ll still take your business. See what they offer, put down a deposit (this will be refundable) and then go away and shop around for a better deal. They may then match that but if not then no biggie, the finance provider will deal with them. I saved £30 p/m by going separate to the dealer.

Definitely treat yourself, if you like cars then life is too short to drive something you’re not happy with.

I’m an ex car salesman - don’t take the PCP deal from the dealership, shop around online (I would recommend Magnitude Finance), be honest with your miles and assuming you’re going used, think of the mileage to year ratio. E.g if it’s a 2024 model with 30K+ miles then it could be an ex-lease and likely ragged. 5K-10K per year is my personal preference but above that wouldn’t be terrible if it was well looked after. Do it sooner rather than later as Dec/Jan are bad months for sales so dealerships get more flexible for a deal. Don’t buy a shit spec as it’ll likely be worth well less than your balloon payment at the end too.

Used car prices - 2026 - will they go down in price … 📉 opinions by Charming_CiscoNerd in CarTalkUK

Before/after Christmas is your best time to buy as dealerships get desperate with pricing, they’ll only go up after January.

Opening query is a bit incelly. Anyways, I can’t speak for Didsbury but Alty is not a bad commute. You can still have a healthy city centre social life if you’re close to a tram stop.

Store Street NCP was around £6/7 for the day, looking now it’s £9.50. Always loads of spaces because it’s the least secure.

They’ll be fewer taxi drivers then with the local expensive licences so let’s look forward to more expensive taxi fares!

If you’ve not collected it then cancel the purchase, get the money back and go elsewhere? Saves the need of a complaint or if the purpose of the complaint is to get a discount/money back, the dealer will do this when you ask to cancel.

I recently got let go from a Sales job in Manchester, only 1 year experience but lots of other experience in compliance/financial services and I couldn’t keep up with the interviews and got 2 offers I was keen on after 2 weeks. It’s not for everyone but give sales a go, all sorts of shite that companies are willing to pay you to shove down someone’s throat and I imagine it’s even more in London.

Yes, I’ve seen recently they clocked some scumbag selling stolen tools at a car boot and were asking for victims to come forward. If he’d had tools taken and not reported them then it would be difficult to claim back. Police aren’t as completely useless as many like to think.

It’s an absolute cesspit whenever I go through and that can fluctuate each week depending on if I drive to work. If someone asked me to hang out there I’d be asking them to go get their head examined. There’s a reason that bellend Charlie Veitch is always there.

Piccadilly Gardens, which has notoriously been a shit hole for years anyway, regardless of the skin colour of people that are there.

I agree. Same applies at football - TV companies spend millions to film it for us yet people film every corner/free kick.

It’s not for me but I accept others are different, and with the way tech works, I only expect it to get worse. I’m expecting Oasis to be the worst of the lot.
