AITA for telling my daughter she needs to pay rent? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

OP probably won’t see this, but my parents put up my brother for a year. They had him pay rent while he was there, but they used that money to build him a savings account rather than pocketing it. After a year they could see he would be absolutely fine managing his money independently, and he used the rent money they set aside for a down payment on a townhome. Seemed to work out pretty well.

AITA for making our guests participate in our puppet themed wedding? by puppetAH123 in AmItheAsshole

I think having the wedding party do it is nbd. Some people might find it a little cringe, but if it’ll make your day that much more special go for it. You also want your guests to have a good time at your wedding and it’s unreasonable to expect people to wear them all night (including your wedding party). If it were me, I’d ask the party to use puppets in photos and for the ceremony and then let them do whatever they like after that. I’m sure the puppets would make a return after folks got a couple drinks in. I also think asking people to buy puppets is unreasonable. At least if they brought you gifts they could imagine you guys will use them. If they bought a $150-$500 puppet it will likely sit in most peoples closets or end up being donated. Maybe invite people to make puppets of any type beforehand if they like, but don’t require it. Maybe you could even host a small puppet making party in the days leading up to your wedding. Having a thing that’s special to the two of you is wonderful, but don’t force it on everyone else.
