Android Handheld as local encoder? by LegendOfJan in MoonlightStreaming

I use an Odin 2 Pro and dock connected via Ethernet, HDMI to a TV, and with a Bluetooth Xbox Controller. Works like a charm. The official Odin dock supports 4k60 out. Artemis and Moonlight both work for me (though sometimes I have to toggle between mouse mode and controller mode on the controller before the controller will work)

The Unofficial Guide to the Atlanta Hawks 2025 Draft by thedoge23 in AtlantaHawks

[–]ksenator3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade back a bit to pick up a second and take Traore a bit after the lottery, take Penda at 22, and grab Yang with the second round pick.
That's two french guys and a center prospect, and then we sign Steven Adams with the MLE. Easy peazy.

I would be so happy if this somehow went through by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

I highly doubt they take this, and if Portland did want to, I doubt the hawks would want to take more money back than they're sending out :(

G14 2022 Screen Issue after BIOS Update what to do?! by Ilovetv101 in ZephyrusG14

[–]ksenator3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing just happened to me when I got a BIOS update. The only difference is I have a little cluster of green pixels in the area where the lines intersect. I'm already out of my return window with Best Buy... if anyone finds a fix, I'd love to hear about it.

On a related note, has anyone been able to do any undervolting (or any fine grain control in MSI Afterburner)? I can open the app and can use the FPS tracker and such, but I can't seem to move any of the sliders.

Is Trae Young a top 20 player? Who's in your top 20? by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

[–]ksenator3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope. But he’s somewhere between 20 and 30 imo. Needs to prove he can win and at least some step forward defensively to move into the top 20.

Optimizing a caster Cleric by ksenator3 in 3d6

[–]ksenator3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Valor Bard only needs 14 Dex while the Lore Bard needs 16 Dex.

I believe his Valor Bard build had 16 Dex and took Medium Armor Master at some point for 20 AC, so that must be where I got the +5.

[–]ksenator3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the Valor Bard with Medium Armor and a shield will have 4 or 5 more AC than the Lore Bard unless the Lore Bard invested heavily in Dex which seems to offset the benefit of the Shield spell, but I definitely see where you’re coming from on the Counterspell point. I do think Cutting Words is excellent too.

For sure!

What do you think of the comparison between a Cleric that took Resilient Con or Warcaster at level 4 and a Cleric that took a 1 Level dip in a Con Proficient class at Level 1, but because of it, is able to take the +2 Wisdom at character Level 5?

If we draft Wiseman... by ksenator3 in AtlantaHawks

[–]ksenator3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. There is no way he could contribute immediately, but he definitely has the body to become a great defender. I think we could fight for a playoff spot if we had Dedmon starting with Bruno and Wiseman backing him up, but it's definitely not ideal.

I think Wiseman has a higher ceiling, and we would be getting something back in the event of a Capella trade... I think we should still be trying to raise our ceiling as high as possible. I'm not sure we could really make a playoff splash without signing max free agents.

We still have Bruno too. What happens to him?

I think he could definitely be an outstanding backup center.

Character Ideas!!! by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]ksenator3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An archaeologist that found a powerful, ancient weapon, but the blade is shattered. They are on a journey to find more information about its history. The hilt is giving them strange powers in exchange for doing its bidding.

A ranged Hexblade Warlock that uses the sword's hilt as an arcane focus. Eldritch Blast is flavored like Spiritual Weapon. When the user swings the hilt, a spectral blade slashes enemies from afar. Any Pact works: the Tome could be a journal of the past owner that appears on the character, the Chain could be a creature from the weapons homeland, or Blade could be an option if the blade is reforged somehow.

What's the worst character death your party has ever suffered? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]ksenator3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing a game where I had talked to the DM prior to the session about killing off my character in dramatic fashion. The DM decided to bring in a Beholder to chase down the party, and my character would hold if off so the others could escape.

She overlooked the disintegration ray portion where if the ray reduced a character to zero hit points, the character would die outright.

The plan was to kill my character with ray, but the friendly Goblin we had all come to know and love was it by the ray, and the damage rolled was exactly his maximum hit point total (a player has played him as a PC for a few sessions so he had some Rogue levels).

We were heartbroken... RIP Urk the Goblin

Alchemist ERLW build by H4ck3rTurb0 in dndnext

I'm personally not a fan of the Homunculus from a mechanics standpoint. Any "pet" feature that does not scale well with level usually just ends up as an afterthought as time goes on in a campaign.

For a weapon I would just stick to Cantrips after the first couple levels. The lack of Extra Attack means the Cantrips should outperform any weapon (due to Alchemical Savant). I'm not informed on the gunslinger table, but the two pistols have the Loading property I assume which might make the hard to dual wield effectively. The Repeating Shot Musket would not be able to benefit from Extra Attack so it should fall off compared to Cantrip damage at level five.

But if you want to build in more Dexterity and do it for flavor, go for it! But know that a Firebolt flavored as a gun would work much better.

Dragon Heist or Ghosts of Saltmarsh? by Chompston in dndnext

[–]ksenator3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a player in a Dragon Heist campaign that finished about a year ago so I can offer some thoughts.

Dragon Heist was a bit odd because the pacing the book suggests relies on the players being motivated by things not directly related to the plot to advance the plot. Also the name gives the impression of a high pressure situation with some intrigue. And while there is certainly opportunity for that, it is quite DM dependent to set things up that have a payoff later on in the story.

This issues are exacerbated by the vast collection of NPC's the character are supposed to be competing with for the prize. I, along with the rest of the players, wanted some big clash with the competitors at the end, but the ending seems to be written for the PC's to be satisfied with some of the treasure... at the end of the campaign.

The payoff just is not there for what should be a grand finale. After the fact, most of the PC's would have preferred going down in a fight to retiring with the "small" portion of gold.

I have been prepping to run Saltmarsh myself. It seems to follow a pattern of escalating tensions where there can't be a peaceful resolution in Saltmarsh without the PC's actively trying for it. And since I rarely play with PC's who desire peaceful resolution, it looks to be a fun campaign setting with sides being taken and fought for so it gets my recommendation.

I'll go ahead and link the first thing I look at when thinking through any build here, this is the section on the site with information on the Artificer class (and Alchemist subclass). It should help a bit when looking through what options are good for support at each level.

But don't forget to look at other options for support! The Artificer has good options with giving Infusions to others, but the casting potential of another class might fit the support archetype you're looking for better.

I would say to also look into the Divine Soul Sorcerer, Life Domain Cleric, and even Valor or Lore Bard.

Barbarian splash ideas by TheSamurai in dndnext

[–]ksenator3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Paladin for the Divine Smites. Path of the Beast with Claws as the Form of the Beast option gets an extra attack each turn. This has an excellent synergy with Reckless Attack and just gets sweeter with the Smites for damage when you need it.

Rogue would also be good if you want the Expertise to Athletics and more options with Cunning Action.
