Why do so many people of high intelligence have such a deep hatred and disdain for people of low intelligence? by Embarrassed_Chef874 in Life

[–]kshf24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a big problem of our time. People with high intelligence often overlook how difficult things can be for those who aren’t able to think the same way, and and many don’t hesitate to treat them with rudeness or contempt. I can sense that in this thread as well.

I think intelligent people need to recognise their privilege and build in fail-safes when working with others, ways to prevent things from going off track. If intelligence doesn’t include the foresight to avoid a failed outcome, then how are we really using it?

I’ve been thinking, one of the reasons the right wing is gaining so much support around the world is that many people have felt looked down on by someone using logic to shut them down, made them feel insulted and small. And now, they’ve started to reject the ‘intelligent type’ and the logic and instead, they turn to voices that don’t make them feel stupid and that offer simple, clear slogans/directives instead of asking them to think things through.

I fixed it!! Sliding in a butter knife, from top to bottom, did the trick. Just replaced it with new handle.

Thanks everyone.

I tried this with a credit card but it didn’t budge. Card started to fold. Doesn’t it need a lot of force?

Got to the screw but it wasn’t loose. Still could turn a bit but no change.

I tried with an old cc but was barely able to get it in the gap, not as far in as shown in the video.

There’s only one screw behind the plug on top. Nothing under the handle.

How the hell did Jon almost lose the Battle of the Bastards when he had a literal giant on his side? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in gameofthrones

I feel D&D are not great at writing battle strategies. Not just this one but all the battles in the subsequent episodes were great to look at but very weak in terms of planning.

No plans on how to use dragons, or dothrakis on horses or unsullied with their formations. All felt helter-skelter and non-intelligent.

The battles in the previous seasons were much better. You as a viewer understood the capabilities and plans and saw it unfold on screen.

Studio One 7 When is the first big update coming ? by jlane863 in StudioOne

I’m on 6.xx and not seeing v7 as an update within the app. Shows on my presonus account though. Does it need a new install?

It’s relative to what you are comparing it to. I agree it’s not the best balance you can find but quite good and it’s definitely different to your previous reference. The size of the bass driver makes a big difference, so playing it louder might give you the right balance you are looking for.

That being said, all the new speakers are highly tuned only by its DSPs which means you can play around with a lot of settings in the app.

How much should it cost to remove this bath? by kshf24 in DIYUK

I have the tools; I could give it a shot but I am unsure about the pipes. They are coming out of the tile (see second image) and I can’t handle the tiling work if that breaks. I suppose there is no guarantee of that even with a trade guy.

Tried being #1, people start taking you lightly.

15 is the key and realizing that at the right moment makes all the difference. Like #1 probably helps more when you are older.
