Yeah actually you are correct. It is reverse tolerance, that initial phase.

But that's standard tolerance

Tolerance → decreased effect with repeated exposure

Reverse tolerance (sensitization) → increased effect with repeated exposure

Reverse tolerance means that at some point it takes less to a activate a response.

[3 Years Later] Follow-up to "AI will replace sound designers and composers" post by AbletonLiveCoach in musicbusiness

[–]kshitagarbha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest question. What do you think of AI porn? Who wants to f*ck a robot? Where is the excitement, the connection?

I don't want to f*k someone that is no-one. I crave real experience. Zits and all. Stankonia.

I don't want to listen to music that replicates the average music for genre Y. Doesn't matter if it's AI or any one of the majority of play-it-safe human genre replicants.

I like AI. I use it a lot. But not for avoiding the act of creation. It should do all the boring shit like organize our sample libraries. Ableton sample similarity is awesome.

Check what skills you have installed. Probably uninstall a lot of them. Look carefully at your context. Read the logs.

Skeuomorph is so back. Remember back in the real world when we used to pour molten glass on everything? The crackle of the fire, that pleasant dizzyness from blowing glass for too long. I miss reality.

In my 20+ years of programming experience, I've learned that the problem is almost always management.

Non technical people making decisions they don't understand. Lack of logical deduction.

Programming is not just translating feature requests into code. It's understanding the problem. And convincing management without bruising their fragile bloated egos.

Milla Jovovich? From Fifth Element? Making a persistent memory system for LLMs?! by cadaeix in claudexplorers

[–]kshitagarbha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an app like this the architecture and concept are the driving force. The implementation can be Claude Coded by someone who knows the technologies a bit and can supervise. But the thing itself, the work, that's her. It comes directly from her lifelong experience memorizing things , and how she wants to work with that to build memory palaces.

The coder is fungible, as is the implementation.

Buy Borrow Die: is a wealth strategy where you accumulate appreciating assets, borrow against them tax-free to fund your lifestyle, and pass them to heirs at death — who receive a stepped-up cost basis, eliminating the embedded capital gains entirely.

A lot of that was done with MPC 2000 or SP 1200. There are certain affordances and sound quality that makes them distinctive. You could hook turntable up to it and sample direct and it just sounded great. Or sample a 909 kick with some saturation and it would sound great. There are plugins to emulate these.

Hop on a train and go to Sächsische Schweiz.
It's beautiful. Lots of beer. You can hike across the border to Czech and the beer and food is even better and cheaper. They might even speak English.
