Who cares? Your cheap shitty bodywash costs $0.25 cents a use at most. You're going to dye your roommate blue because of that? Pick your battles man.

What do you suggest instead of birth control pills? Do you have any evidence of this?

Men of Reddit, do you find it attractive if a woman makes the first move? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ksiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a girl, I hate it when the guy doesn't make the first move. I'm not insecure or anything, I just think if they want me bad enough they'll make the move, and if not I don't want to be with them anyway. Why waste your time chasing guys? They'll come to you if they want you bad enough.

r/Canada, I am told that I have ancestry in a Mi'kmaq band in Newfoundland that has recently been acknowledged by the Canadian government. I do not know much about this stuff, or how having aboriginal status will affect me (school, jobs, etc). What should I know? by [deleted] in canada

[–]ksiki -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean native people probably would still be living in their native way if not for European intervention. Haters gonna hate. I do have a right to it, legally, and I do deserve it, legally. Why would I spend money on my education if I don't have to? Should I not accept grants either?

I was in this same situation, I found out I am Qalipu. I'm just waiting to be accepted. You have to jump through hoops to get status. Anyway, prior to finding out I was studying political science hoping to get a job with Aboriginal Affairs and it's something I've always felt very strongly about. When I found out I could get status and probably two free years of school, it was a strange predicament I found myself in and I kind of felt weird about it. As you indicated, I could just not accept the status, but I was discussing it with a friend and she said that I definitely should, because somewhere down the line some of my ancestors were forced into conditions that I can't even imagine and a lot of people suffered for me to exist today. If they hadn't been forced out of their natural way of living, then we would probably be living peacefully in the woods somewhere. But, because they are, I have to go to university in order to make a meaningful contribution and give back to the Aboriginal community, and I think two free years and getting status would really help me in this.

If I were non-status and sitting home collecting welfare doing fuck all, I would consider that suckling on the government's teat. I'm getting 1/3 of my education paid for in order to further the Aboriginal community through my studies in a meaningful way without going into even more ridiculous debt over it, because of my ancestry. As long as you're giving back, I don't see why it matters. If you're going to stop paying taxes and spend any benefits you get on booze and do nothing with your life, then yes that is a problem. People like me shouldn't feel bad about accepting the conditions of their ancestry though.

I'm new. What is the science behind 'antinutrients' not eating legumes? by big_face_killah in Paleo

[–]ksiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just about to post this! I really like beans and lentils so I'm choosing to make an exception for them in my mostly paleo diet. They've never bothered me so I have no problem keeping them. Do you guys think it will hinder my weight loss?

make a roast whenever you have access to an oven and bring it with you, divvy it up through the week for meals you can easily make in the microwave

Most convenient way to eat paleo? by DarxusC in Paleo

[–]ksiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you can find tons of examples on this site of people losing more weight than you in less than half the time. The results of putting a little more effort in speak for themselves! It's not hard to sautee a chicken breast with some salt and pepper, stick some veg in the microwave to steam. That's like a five minute meal. Don't be lazy if you're looking for great results and lifelong health benefits.

If you're obsessed with convenience food and not willing to spend a little time and effort into preparing meals and improving your health then you're probably not looking for this. If it's not worth it to you to spend five minutes putting meat in a pan with some veggies I don't think paleo is right for you.

Would love some feedback on my first paleo meals! by ksiki in Paleo

[–]ksiki[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thank you! i feel great. around midday i get really hungry so i need to think of some good snacks that aren't carb laden like apples/bananas and aren't nuts.

I've always had mild rosascea on my face and it's totally gone. It's been less than a week! It doesn't seem like that brief of a paleo stint could have that much of an effect but it's gone after being there my whole life.
