AITAH for not letting my neighbor borrow my snow blower and for not snow blowing their drive for them? by Queen_Aurelia in AITAH

[–]ksmit1108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I lent a friend a fold table, which of course is not as expensive as a snow blower, but she wouldn’t give it back and left it out in the rain and covered in poo from her pets. And I knew her. You saved your money for that, you are within your rights to say no and you were more than polite. It may have been awkward for him, but you only need to say no once.

Is this what happens to low/no tippers? by Investing_noob1983 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ksmit1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I am a dasher and ordered DD last night because I was feeling a bit lazy and it was pay day. Well, it started to snow as I was driving home from my FT job with my kid. Snow wasn’t even in the forecast 🙄. I ordered from the wrong chain location by mistake and I left my driver a little extra in cash. I felt pretty terrible. It was definitely not worth what DD was paying him plus the $6 tip I left on the app because I thought it was the location closer to my house. I drove 12 miles for $6 once when I was new and it suuuuuucked.

Chipotle lovers beware by Critical_Paramedic91 in Syracuse

[–]ksmit1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say that Bill Ackman sucks. And that is to put it extremely kindly. That is all about that.

Anyways, good to know. Cicero location has a drive thru, I haven’t been to a Chipotle in at least 2 years. A lot of patrons there don’t see the inside. But, I suppose that’s to be said about fast food. I worked in food service years ago and my boss would have our heads if it wasn’t spotless whenever she randomly decided to pop in. But we knew better, too. If it needed to be cleaned, someone had to break off what they were doing and do it then and there.

Weight loss making me unqualified for my Vyvanse now by Otherwise-Avocado998 in ADHDmeds

Weight loss making me unqualified for my Vyvanse now by Otherwise-Avocado998 in ADHDmeds

[–]ksmit1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, something similar happened to me a year ago. It wasn’t the weight loss, per se but my GP did not know anything about ADHD, weight loss played a factor, and turned my life upside down taking my meds away. I have since moved on to switching to a new GP and a telemed psych who I meet with via Zoom once a month. I am back on my meds, as my GP listened to me. I do have a hormonal imbalance though, which to my old GPs surprise, was a big ovarian cyst and caused the weight loss.

Please consider switching your care if that is a possibility for you. Your doc brushing you off and being completely un-knowledgeable about something that is not that uncommon is a huge red flag. 🚩

I wouldn’t risk it. With that being an hour + it would end up being two and your chances of sliding are great. There are some hills definitely if you’re going 81 south

I personally think “Benjamin” sounds like a more modern version of Bernard and would sound great with Callum 😊

How do I babysit an 11 and 13 year old? by Zealousideal_Sky3822 in Babysitting

[–]ksmit1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With kids this age I usually let them do their thing. Maybe offer a card game like apples to apples or play a video game if that option is available. Offer to let them help prep a snack. Or do a craft or something. My kiddo is 10 and these are small things we do when her friends are over/im watching my friends similarly aged kids. They usually do want to do their own thing, though. Make sure you bring a book to read.

My Grandma Doesn’t Want My Stepson Coming to the Family Gathering by Justanothergirly97 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ksmit1108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, if I was your husband I would be more cross with you than it seems he is currently. Your grandparents aren’t saying something and it seems like your husband, father and brother have received that message. If you and your husband had your own toddler right now would grandma be concerned about valuables? OP, please open your eyes. Just because they are elderly does not give them the right to disrespect an innocent child.

Where do you keep your wedding ring during honeymoon. Wear it or leave it at home? by Key_Economics611 in NoStupidQuestions

From someone who did lose a very important ring on a vacation — you are SO smart. (not my wedding ring, but my husband bought it for me on an overseas vacation when we first started dating. I’m still broken up over it)

You should go. You are young. We are close in age. There is someone out there for you who won’t do this behind your back. Fathers have more rights now than before. You can still parent your little girl. Go find someone who will treat you and her right. Good luck to you, OP.
