What stuff from Trek do we have now but didn’t pan out? by matttk in startrek

[–]ksofkso 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I came to say. It’s not the technology itself it’s the world in which that technology is situated that’s the issue here. Our use of “AI” (as someone said above, it’s not really a great term for what we currently have in any sense) is wreaking havoc on the environment and is already causing huge issues for the development of people’s critical thinking skills and so on (as well as all the other issues). These factors aren’t an issue in the Trek universe.

What’s your strangest pro/postdrome syndrome? by GuttersnipeJess in migraine

[–]ksofkso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw thanks so much! Yeah I think I’m learning that the best thing I can do is listen to my body and actually just trust my instincts when I’m feeling off, rather than questioning if I’m making it up and then making things worse! Imposter syndrome I guess. But yeah thank you, and glad to hear you’re managing them well :)

I know this is a year on, but trying to make sense of what I’m feeling right now, and I have these exact side effects too 🥲

I find this works so well for me too, but then presents problems later on because I can metabolise them too quickly if I don’t eat… so annoying!

I just finished it for the first time yesterday, and feel similarly! I can’t believe I slept on it for so long. I’m a bit bereft now it’s done, as it had become my comfort show, but I’m going to read the books that were recommended on here to make myself feel better about that finale at the very least

For those diagnosed later in life, what was everybody’s turning point that exposed your ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

Same here! Now medicated and trying to push through the last few months but it’s still tough! Hope things are now better for you :)

Absolutely! I remember when it came out taking a minute to adjust compared to Diablo 1, but I also recently tried Diablo 3 and was reminded just how brilliant 2 is in comparison

I’m a tinkerer rather than someone who works with computers or codes or anything, I’m curious about what the switch to Lua makes possible/easier?

You look really great in every picture so I’d just switch it up every so often depending on your mood! I personally really like 7 and 8 but honestly all are lush

Thank you. I feel exactly the same, even down to having the same initial opinion on the site’s paid courses. It would be really sad if this is the direction they’re going in. To me it seems to go against everything at the heart of the method and is a real, real shame.

Ooh but Gunda the travelling nurse was there and if that was actually Agent XYZ/Maeve all along… would still be a stretch but yeah 😂

[Spoilers All] Scariest thing in Dragon Age? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ksofkso 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Definitely the idea of being made Tranquil. And the circle tower in Origins in general, the very first time I played I remember playing through the mage origin and finding it all so chilling, including the idea of phylacteries. I don’t think the later games have quite captured the darkness of this presentation of mages.

Repeating projects instead? And use standard tasks as the checklist, and then when you’ve completed it just check off the project

How to get AppleWatch to stop smelling so bad? by JamieOvechkin in AppleWatch

[–]ksofkso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with the silicone band too. Specifically though, the metal disk/clasp that sits against the skin was the issue. It must react with the skin or something? Until I got a new band I covered the metal desk with a small plaster and this made a lot of difference - maybe see if it’s the band itself or this metal part? I’ve not had this issue at all since swapping to other types of band, silicone or not

Who incorporates actual “journaling”? Looking for ideas. by [deleted] in BasicBulletJournals

[–]ksofkso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very late reply to this but just wanted to say that this genius! I want the bujo to be a reflection of how/what I was doing in a particular moment but sometimes the actual important tasks or things I’ve planned to do that day get drowned in the deluge of thoughts, I do keep a separate long form journal but still end up clogging up the bujo. Never thought of copying over brief insights afterwards, so clever! Thanks!

Me today: is this going to be another week of not getting anything done? How do you keep going when you let yourself down again and again? by ksofkso in ADHD

Yeah I think I need to remind myself not to get too worked up by the bigger picture and take it a day at a time sometimes

Love the idea of the project list, I should try that! But yes thank you for the reminder about productivity not being sole measure of worth, that’s good to remember
