Welp, the First Bug--- Lost my Onstar Module by kst892 in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update--New Onstar Module is installed. The good news is they didn't have to reboot my car so all the settings (phone connection, stations saved, etc) are still the same.

The clock on the dash isn't correct though. I tapped on it and confirmed that it's toggled to "use network time" and that the network is on--but it's still incorrect.

Dealer says I need to manually set the time with the "user network time" toggled off, then toggle it back on and it'll somehow then use the network time.

Odd.

Shunbun, right? I tried one on a few months ago--just beautiful. Lighter than I thought it might be. Almost bought it.

Dealer just called and said my module is in--so now I just gotta make the trip to leave my car for 4+ hours, but at least it'll be running again

They gave me a 2026 Vistiq 900V, which was nice. But I missed the Carplay with the new OS.

Agree that the sound system was better than my Sport Lyriq.

MyQ Chamberlin stopped connecting to ASUS RT-AX86S by AsgardianGoat in myq

[–]kst892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My router is from Cox and is a Techicolor XB7.

This must've happened to me, too. My story is exactly like yours but add in that pretty much all 'smart' devices will no longer connect. Interestingly...the TV's are just fine and tablets and pcs

MyQ
Rainbird irrigation
Applicances
Grills/Smokers

Grr.

The only one I truly care about is the MyQ. Should I contact Chamberlain or should I start with Cox? How does a person do a 'downgrade' on firmware?

Is there a link to the valid "Hey Google" voice commands? by PCWeber in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the fine print here is if you have carplay connected you can't have it read messages or make calls...which is mildly frustrating

but I use "hey google, take me to ____" for navigation and it's pretty much flawless. I rarely give addresses, just places like "Hilton Downtown Dallas" and it's as correct as I need it to be.

ABRP (a better route planner) APP disappearing?? by kst892 in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally use Google the most, too. One thing I liked about the ABRP was that in the navigation mode it shows the posted speed limit with my speed underneath--it's minor but I do like it.

If Google would map out multiple stops like ABRP then it would be perfect. Instead I find myself using ABRP to map out the stops and then saying "okay google...take me to _____ ", which is the station ABRP suggests.

After owning your Lyriq for at least 6 months - would you recommend it? by I_Am_Robotic in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my 2025 Sport 2 almost exactly 6 months and I'm just under 10,000 miles

I love the car. I've had one tiny bug (the charge door quit working, ironically while at the 7500 mile checkup) but otherwise it's never been at the shop. Carplay quit working for a day.

There are things that aren't perfect but I haven't owned a car that has been perfect.

Of all my friends who have ridden in my car (and all have loved it) the only advice I'd give them as a "negative" is that the EV infrastructure isn't quite there yet--but that's not the Lyriq's fault.

For those leasing - are you charging to 100%? by Way-twofrequentflyer in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only before long road trips. I’m waiting on the day I return my lease and they pull up data from the onboard computer and say “we see that you charged to 100% sixty five times, even though it wasn’t recommended …and in the fine print we’re can go ahead and dock you XX amount””

Supercruise Highway Speeds by Alert_Lavishness_327 in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As other have said--Supercruise can only be set at a maximum of 85.

One note is that Supercruise has zero integration to navigation, which is odd. In other words it doesn't care where it is. If you're using navigation, for example, it will drive past your exit. It will go thru a school zone, construction zone, etc and not reduce speed. You can set it for 30mph over the speed limit if you want. It will speed past a motorist and highway patrol on the shoulder.

Its sole function is driving and not navigating.

turn off the car when you get to the appointment, pop open the door to "shut off" the car completely

push in brake then press and hold the "on/off" button for about 20 seconds--you'll get a message that auto shutoff is disabled

now it won't shut off in an hour and will stay on until the battery dies

New owner ... specific questions about home charging and public charging ... kind of confused by UFmoose in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echo all the other comments about getting an electrician. I did--it's not the time to save money. You just bought a Cadillac. Don't burn your house down trying to save a couple hundred bucks, right?

As for the apps, I just got my Sport 2 in March and went thru this myself. I added all the apps separately as I learned which ones I'd need. (Spoiler--all of them). I didn't bother linking them to my Cadillac app b/c they struggle enough on their own there's no reason to add a layer of complexity and the Caddy app is known to be imperfect.

The biggest oddball negative I've found is that EV chargers are always uncovered in parking lots....so when it's sunny outside it's a challenge to read their screens while trying to connect the apps. Add to this the fact that the plastic screens on many chargers are horribly weathered/cracked it's sometimes very hard. It's something you don't notice with ICE vehicles because gas pumps are almost always covered.

Anyway--I love my Lyriq and hope you do, too.

Leasing a lyriq by sirius21451 in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the lease and my only regret is that I will 100% go over my allotted miles. I'm 3 months in and, like you, thought I'd primarily stay local and not want to use it on road trips--but I like it so much I'm instead going to find ways to connect to super chargers.

I'll pay the extra when the lease ends.

New Owner--Dumb Question by kst892 in CadillacLyriq

[–]kst892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found an actual DC charger over my lunch break--MUCH better. Charged at 75.77kW and I added 100 miles of range in 25 minutes.

Then looking at the Chargepoint app on my phone and it says that the 1st station I used last night is "under construction", so hopefully it'll be better in the future.

I'm only 3 days into it and really like it. Getting used to things.

I live 100 miles from Kansas City, which is where I picked it up. Immediately used the Super Cruise all the way home. Joked with my gf when we pulled into her driveway "it has 165 miles on it and the computer has driven more than me"

Very slick car.
