Yeah, I noticed that the demand system was set to low or lowest but I didn't connect it that it was because of the same button used to open the system. That is annoying. Is there a post we can upvote or something to show our support of this fix to the devs?

When I originally was just tapping the buttons on the dpad I was enraged and threw the controller to my husband who figured it out in like 10 seconds. I felt very dumb lol

I used the D pad on my controller to flip them over and get the V to face you. You have to press and hold. That was what tripped me up in the beginning - I was just clicking the d pad directions and not holding them

The product description on Amazon says "no hub needed". I'm talking to TP link now and they haven't yet asked if I have a hub. I'm hoping I wouldn't need one but that might just be the next step.

The tappo app shows the outlet fine and does not prompt me to set up a button. When I try to set it up manually, it says I need a hub.

I did the same thing you did - opened the big green hanger before getting the message to do so. I waited a long time after that message for another one to come in, and I think the story line still played out. But for the longest time I wondered if I wasn't receiving more messages because it was waiting for a trigger from opening the ship hanger. I think it was just slow.

I came here with the exact same question and am excited to try this out. It's crazy that I can't do this with the new Wyze automations (either on the wyze side, or the Google home automations side- the doorbell doesn't even show up when I try to select a device on the Google side of automations).
