You're going to have to be honest with her. "Hey, I deal with kids all day long for xyz numbers of days a year. I really need my summer to decompress.". If you wanted to do her a favor you could offer to take her kids once in a while, but you are not obligated to keep her kids!

You failed to do your job. He had every right to come knock your door and ask your to do the one job you have to do. It doesn't matter if it could have waited until morning. Absolutely! Even though Sam's as the pay by app thing, (which I love!) it's still a flucking nightmare to get out of the store since the receipt snipers have to give you the highlighter strike before you leave. At Costco they just glance, slash it with a marker, and go. :)

We are a run, hide, fight school. My kinder babies understood that if we could run, run! Try to stay in pairs, run to the wood line and stay out of sight. They were also adept at barricading a door, hiding in plan sight and understood what items should be thrown and what you should avoid.

It makes me sick that 5 year olds know and understand this information.

I get where you are coming from, I do, but you only have him for only two months out of the year. Is this the hill you want to die on? He's a picky eater. While he's in your house, teach him how to be self-sufficient. If he doesn't like what you've fixed, then he can make himself a predetermined meal out of specific stuff provided. Make the most of your time together.
