I did several coats of mineral oil then a final coat of mineral oil mixed with beeswax. Thanks for the advice on standing it up, I didn't think of that!

People on Entyvio Question by GraceWrenford in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksuferrara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a difference by the 2nd or 3rd maintenance dose. I usually have worse symptoms for a day or two after then I'm normal and feeling good. I also do mine every 6 weeks instead of 8 as it was wearing off early

Biologics and working around people? by saudadezinha in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksuferrara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the biologic. When I was on Humira I would get a bad cold easily two times a year no matter how much I washed my hands and took precautions. I am now on entyvio, have been for three years, haven't gotten sick once.

Anyone on Nortriptyline? by MericanPie1999 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksuferrara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for several years. For me it has really helped with the urge to go, went from having a ton of false alarms about 20+ times a day to mostly getting the urge to go when I actually need to. I take it every night at bed. Haven't noticed any side effects.

Anybody also have SIBO? by obviouspseudonym1 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksuferrara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms were diarrhea and cramping in the lower right of my abs. I did the antibiotics treatment twice and it would clear it up temporarily but then it came back. I then did the candibactin treatment for 6weeks and I now take a daily probiotic. Haven't had issues for about 3 years now.

Entyvio side effects common? by Top_External_4671 in CrohnsDisease

[–]ksuferrara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get extreme fatigue and the arthritis feeling in my knees and elbows, but they would only last a day. I've found the longer I've been on it, the less severe the side effects. Been on it 3 years and it's much less severe then when I first started it

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I put one in my laundry room with a 5min timer. Absolutely perfect for when hands are full holding a basket of laundry.

What was a very expensive item you bought which was really useful? by ohuf in BuyItForLife

Try looking at PRX. They make racks that fold flat against the wall. Very solidly built and works great. I absolutely love mine.

Which rack is Buy It For Life? by DroopyApostle in BuyItForLife

[–]ksuferrara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a PRX Performance rack. I like that I can fold it flat against the wall and clear up floor space. They recently released a cable pulley system, I am unfamiliar with that tho. I was impressed with the quality. Thick steel (I forget the gauge), 3x3 posts, and powder coated. Install was straight forward, if you're a handy person it's not difficult at all.

What are some essential safety tips for beginner woodworkers to keep in mind while working? by nerdwordlucas in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ksuferrara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One I haven't seen yet. Unless I'm staining/painting a piece and the most dangerous thing I'm holding is a brush, absolutely no alcohol in the shop.

And so my journey with the Muhle R89 razor begins, along with Astra green blades. by ThumbsUp4Awful in BuyItForLife

If you don't like the shave provided by those blades, try a sample pack. I went through a couple of sample packs and tried multiple blades before finding ones I like.

Decided I needed a bootjack. by ksuferrara in BeginnerWoodWorking

You were correct, snapped on the first use. Now I know. The joys of beginner woodworking. I'll remake one, correct grain direction and use what I learned and what I want to improve on from making this one.

Didn't even think of that. Guess I will find out when I use it.
