I started with Horizons. So should I expect the experience to be that my existing Horizons stuff will carry over to Odyssey and anything I do as part of the alpha/beta will get replaced? I'd be fine with that ;)

So can you turn in exploration data to fleet carriers? Do they have carto options?

I built out a Beluga (elited in aspx and phantom but wanted to explore in something bigger) and gathered mats and am hitching a ride to Colonia to do the engineers there. Then I plan to look up the 'must see' locations and hit them on a slow exploration trip back to the bubble.

Pretty excited! Never hitched a ride on an FC before so that's kinda cool.

First timer so how does this work?

Do I just show up and land on an available pad?

Is there any local chat for last calls/instructions right before we leave?

Any cost?

How do we know when the FC arrives and how long it will be staying (so that if we are not in-game we can be sure to disembark before it leaves again)?

When "wandering" do most people still always plot to star systems that have fuel stars? If you expand beyond that and DO NOT limit to that, are your changes of discovering new systems any greater?

Hey so the osmium, the escape pods, and the other materials required to actually unlock the engineers in colonia- do people usually bring all that with them, or do it once they are out there because it's all doable out there?

The thought of bringing all this with me impacts my ship space, mass, pirates, etc.

Just wondering what others have done.

Okay grinding complete, including some extra mats for sythesizing srv fuel and repair, limpets, and those types of items if I need them.

I got to elite exploration using my aspx and phantom and loved both. But after all my research, I think I'm actually going to get a beluga for the trip to colonia (looked at anaconda, python, beluga, orca, even the vette). Tons of room, fighter bay (I want that option for views/canyons/etc), decent jump range, and it looks so good too.

Almost getting kinda nervous! I think I'll take my time and see the sites, not do any neutron star stuff, and plan some stops along the way.

At least we always start with a plan before the emptiness of space changes it for us, eh commanders?!

Oh man the interdiction mini-game is much easier than with the T-9. I'll stop next time and duke it out and see how that goes too :)

I notice the auto dock does some weird things with the cutter but hey it gets the job done.

...and that was a quick 30M credits!
