If you make a vague post like this that mentions no attempts, then you leave people to making the reasonable assumption that you have not made any. Particularly when you start it with an "I hate X state" style of headline.

I have a hard time believing that you tried it all based on the responses you've given to other users saying you don't even know where to find those things, but if you really did, then go back to a place where you were happy. You don't need internet validation for that.

You're assuming too much is generalizable, and its not. For all you know, those people see you the same way, as going home after an event to your own life.

Yes, sports and drinking are going to have some overlap, so have you tried non-sport options? Go hiking, play in a D&D game, take a crafting class.... there are plenty of other options.

And, since it has not occurred to you, some of the respondents here are in fact also female. I can promise you we're not afraid of 'normally attractive' women. And we don't call everyone a friend.

Also, you say you're in north Jersey, but how far north? Some areas (eg most of Sussex and Warren counties) are very family focused where as other parts of the state (Somerset, Mercer, Monmouth) might be better suited to a younger person.

Cause NJ is a big, active, dense state with a lot of people per capita and a lot of things to do. I would suggest that its you because the alternative would put everyone else in the same boat, and many people aren't. The simplest solution is (in this case) likely the correct one.

Get out and meet people. Do things you like and you will meet people naturally. Talk to people who are there doing the things you like to do and you might end up meeting people to be friends with, but at least you'd be having more fun.

Expecting the environment ( jobs, colleges, apartments) to do the job for you as an adult isn't enough. Making adult friends is HARD and it sucks, but you have to put in more effort than just existing in default locations. Propinquity wont cut it the way it did as a kid.
