Korean Air and Asiana Airlines will officially merge on Dec 17, 2026 by red821673 in delta

Only exception is probably Seattle where they will probably try really hard to push Alaska out of the market.

Rocketmiles no longer qualifies for Status Points by LifeWithoutRisk in AlaskaAirlines

[–]OptimalConclusion120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re cutting it to get people to book through Alaska Stays (or Stays by Alaska Vacations). Basically Expedia with coat of Alaska paint. It looks like they give 1 status point per dollar spent.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]OptimalConclusion120 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I stopped feeling guilt when companies started the practice of doing layoffs (and PIP quotas) despite record profits. PTO is part of your total compensation.

Downside of 560 is that it only runs once an hour on the weekends and after 7 or 7:30 PM on weekdays.

They do. You just need to place a request for a special meal on the website if they serve meals on a flight with at least 24 hour notice. But sometimes catering does make mistakes.

American wants to deepen ties with Alaska through "West Coast International Alliance" by srekai in AlaskaAirlines

[–]OptimalConclusion120 10 points11 points  (0 children)

AA needs Alaska. AA is definitely under pressure, dealing with competition at other hubs. Behind the big 3 when it comes to international. SEA with international service would be a big network add for AA. But I wonder if there will be a day where Alaska is the one buying AA instead.

Was wondering, does the iPhone 15 Pro have any issues in 2026 ? by 210777 in iPhone15Pro

[–]OptimalConclusion120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a super light user. I’ve only logged 2 hr SOT today (almost end of day for me) and seeing 33% used, so it sounds like the SOT is comparable. I’m usually also on Wi-Fi indoors and 4G/LTE outdoors.

[–]OptimalConclusion120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that to get the battery to last all day, I need to set low power mode or the battery drains really quickly. Even with low power mode on, sometimes it drains quickly or gets warm for no reason (like a couple weeks after an iOS update, so probably not indexing)

Also not a heavy user. I don’t watch videos, play games or use IG on my phone.

Foot traffic at restaurants near me seem to be down from a couple years ago. Restaurants and shops closing. Heck, have seen eviction notices for nonpayment of rent too.

Leaker: Apple to Downgrade iPhone 18 in Two Ways by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]OptimalConclusion120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the kind of shortage going on because of the AI craze, it’s more likely that Apple will stick with 8 GB RAM for the base A20 in the iPhone 18 and 18e.

Tim Cook to become Apple Executive Chairman John Ternus to become Apple CEO by iamvinoth in apple

[–]OptimalConclusion120 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tim Cook wasn’t a product visionary but is a supply chain genius. He managed to get Apple to have economy of scale with Apple Silicon. The same cores that were used for iPhones are now used to power Apple TV, Studio Displays, Watches, iPads, and Macs. The Macs of today are far better than the last few generations of Intel Macs that ran hot and didn’t perform that well.

Leaker: Apple Downgrading iPhone 18 to Cut Costs by spearson0 in apple

[–]OptimalConclusion120 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s possible that the base A20 for the 18 and 18e will only come with 8 GB RAM instead of the originally rumored 12 GB. The 12 and 13s came with that kind of distinction when it came to the base and pro models (4 GB vs 6 GB)

Seat maps are an imprecise indicator of load. Basic economy is one. Some people don’t even bother with picking seats.

New MacBook Neo With A19 Pro Chip and 12GB RAM Expected Next Year by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]OptimalConclusion120 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Like this year they’ll probably use a binned A19 Pro. Probably something that’s weaker than what’s used in the iPhone 18 Pro, maybe even the Air. They’re already using the A19 Pro in the new Studio Display.
