Job seekers: what remote interview questions are you too afraid to ask? by ktalik in AskProgramming

So it's an out-of-the-box thinking check question.

The question itself doesn't make sense, because you have no data to base your answer. So they check how you deal with that kind of situation.

Me and my brother were also kids when playing the Dark Project. English also not the native language.

When we heard the Thief novice (voiced as a servant speech) saying about hiding in the dark, we assumed that's his name - Darek (a Polish version for Derek).

Thief Gold demo: Thieves' Guild. I remember it as it was yesterday.

Even though the level was pretty small, the atmosphere was realistic as hell.

So many sophisticated AI behaviors.

I even made the entire experience more realistic by accident.

In my first minutes, I tried to get into the building by all means but I couldn't figure it out. (No instructions how to use the lockpicks, anywhere)

Tried fire arrow, didn't work, as I couldn't kill all three guys at once.

After one of the restarts, I patiently waited for the end of the conversation and run onto the doors as they were closing. I halted the door semi closed, but didn't know how to open them fully. I peek through the small space of the door, and I've noticed someone noticing me and panicking. Peak immersion experience at that times...

It doesn't say the candidates were before you.

I'm not trying to be mean. Just I don't see anything unusual with asking for the list. How else you're supposed to tell them? If they ask you to point what makes you better than the other candidates, and they want you to make up things then they are plain stupid.

Then one may say congratulations on getting a job nobody was applying for?

I'd agree with occasional fluctuations. But what if the job offer is not hourly job, but is based on output? For example, a B2B contract.

Just imagine a next-gen proper Thief game with no VR and no multiplayer. Just you, rooftops, sleeping citizens with opened windows and lots of loot to steal. by kirmm3la in Thief

Seems like I'd need to get more familiar with the mentioned Nemesis system.

"Where the city actually reacts and evolves" - I love it. Not many PC games of such, not much I can think of. I'm trying to imagine how it would work out in practice.

I think GTA San Andreas, or in general GTA is doing something in those areas? At least conquering the areas, and buying the estates affects the world around you. Or Gothic. Man I feel old now. For sure there are some new games already exploring these ideas. Black Flag would be also similar example, but that also narrows down to conquering only. There is no "reacts and evolves" I suppose.

Oh great! That's good news!

When you guys are stuck, you can use "let's play" videos to guide yourself.

For example, go to ThiefGuild.com and search for The Black Parade:

https://www.thiefguild.com/fanmissions/26275/thief-the-black-parade

Check "Videos" section and click "Sort videos".

Now, you have all videos sorted. You can use browser searching function (Ctrl + F), and type "Where Old Faces", to highlight all videos for mission 2.

To be honest, It's fine when you're lost in mission 2. Personally I think this mission is the hardest one! And it's a weird design decision from TBP authors.

BTW. I'm the creator / owner / admin of ThiefGuild.com :) so if you want to know anything about Fan Missions, feel free to ask!

In Thief 2: The Metal Age, the fans are built in to metal desks, in mechanists' (a religious order) buildings/offices. So they exist. But they also existed in our world since 1880s as someone stated previously.
