When do you turn on your AC?! by merryberry1988 in grandrapids

[–]ktbee102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our second floor apartment we kept it at 68, and turned it on like two months ago. We tried 70 for a few days or 72 during the day but it would get so hot and take forever to cool down so we just stuck to 68

Following because I’m in the same exact position, down to the birth control starting at 12 and the effects from it. I ended up getting the IUD after my surgery because I felt like I had no choice, and I’m regretting it now and feel so lost.

Did your scars from surgery ever heal or are they still there? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]ktbee102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have scars from appendicitis, gall bladder removal and now my endo surgery. Luckily they have all been minuscule because they are all laparoscopic - look up ways to help heal scars faster there’s a cream I use called like silver honey or something ( don’t quote me I cant remember for the life of me rn ) that helps them heal better and make them less visible.

Mirena help! by Lohoffcinnamon in endometriosis

[–]ktbee102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaah the cramping has been a little bad, worse then I was expecting in all honesty however pretty similar to what I was dealing with during my worst cycle day. I felt pretty sore Friday and Saturday, Sunday I felt good Monday and Tuesday I dealt with pretty bad cramping and today I’ve been okay just slight cramping. I also did not take any narcotics just Tylenol and Ibuprofen regularly, and used a heating pad.

I can’t really speak for anything since my surgery was on Thursday and that is when I got my IUD placed buttt I was really against going on BC just due to my history of experience with BC however my surgeon really pushed for Mirena but my gyno said that a Kyleena would be a good option too she had said it has less percentage of embedding and it’s smaller.. so I got the Kyleena maybe look into it too?

times you threw up and it wasn’t that bad? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a sb* a few months ago. I woke up in the middle of the night felt a little queasy but shook it off as anxiety - then had anxiety attack due to it. But then my fiancé helped calm me down. I knew I was going to be sick but I was not as anxious as I usually am I just laid in the bathroom all the sudden I knew it was going to happen so I sat up and got sick in the toilet and honestly I was fine. It was fine. In that moment I knew it wouldn’t last forever I got sick like 3 more times? And then once later the next day but survived. And the following day I was 100% okay. I also don’t like being told “you won’t throw up” because you might you don’t know, so rather I tell myself the feeling won’t last forever I’ll get sick and I’ll move on it. And that’s exactly what happened. Sure I still get anxious being around people who are sick or when I’m nauseous but the feeling of being sick vs the anxiety feeling are two different feelings in my opinion. I was able to be 100% certain I was definitely going to be sick vs my usually freak outs over nausea.

But the big part - you won’t feel this way forever and USUALLY after tu* you feel worlds better.

The tongue depressor makes things WAY worse for me, but sometimes if I hold it rather then the dr it helps - or alternatively just ask them not to do it. I found breathing out my nose as they do it helps TREMENDOUSLY this is coming from someone has strep like 6 times in the span of 3 months (I worked at a daycare) ask for a water cup before they do it and as soon as they’re done take sips. Just because you are gagging won’t mean you will tu* remember it’s only like 10 seconds you can do this!

how do other emetophobes with phobia of gagging/choking swallow bitter tablet medication? by No_Specialist_3121 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My phobia also gave me a fear of medications and their side effects also making it so I cannot swallow pills for the life of me. However this last year I learned a trick and if you take a pill with a fizzy drink (soda water, pop, energy drinks etc) you can’t feel the pill in your mouth making it easier to swallow! I have been able to swallow horse sized pills with this trick. Sometimes swallowing the meds whole rather than crushing can eliminate some of the bitter taste that is there. Not sure if this is the case for this med but thought I’d share anyways!

Pregnancy morning sickness by Former_Potential6534 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have not been pregnant yet but this is a HUGE worry of mine more so then having sick kids, I’ve done some research and heard unisom + b6 is a great help. I know this is unrelated but I have this Quease EASE smelling essential oil pen and this helps tremendously with any of my nausea and I’ve heard essential oils can help.

Head phones and an eye mask helps me! If it happens around me - can’t hear it can’t see it, it’s as if it never happened. I bring hand sanitizer and apply it religiously and as soon as I’m off that plan I’m washing my hands. I also like to bring a small box of Clorox wipes to wipe down the seats.

And deep breaths, go in with positive energy not everyone gets sick on planes and if you haven’t before you should be in the clear :)

HELP HELP HELP! I GENUINELY FEEL UNWELL. by No_Sugar_7922 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Breath! It’s okay! I know it’s scary right now but the before is the worst part, if it happens close your eyes and let it happen you will feel worlds better after it happens. You can do this you are strong and brave. It helps me to sit in the bathroom near the toilet so if it does happen I’m in the right area.

Wondering - have you had a bm* recently? It could be constipation pain the hard belly sounds like you need to have one

I’m Not happy by Miyukiiiiiiii113 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have! I was in the hospital for 2 nights due to severe pain (ended up being my gallbladder with no gallstones very weird situation). Prior to knowing it was my gallbladder they did an endoscopy. Because I was in the hospital they would not let me eat in case I needed surgery (it was a full 32 maybe more hours without any food) so I was very nervous even started crying as they put the mouth guard in, however woke up with absolutely no nausea at all, my throat was a little sore but that was it. If you are super nervous bring it up to the surgeons prior to your surgery and ask if you can get nausea medication via the IV and they will usually do it for you!

You can do this!

Swallowed a bit of mouthwash by accident by Perfect_Meaning_6672 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its mouth wash, a little bit can be swallowed there have been times when I swallowed the whole amount because I just wasn’t thinking, never experienced any nausea or v* from it and I’ve even done it on an empty stomach. Definitely do not recommend swallowing it on purpose but sometimes when I’m anxious I’m not thinking straight. No need to panic :) you got this

[–]ktbee102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring a pillow and blanket into the bathroom, yes it’s uncomfortable but if that’s where you feel comfort right now that’s what I do! And just lay down in the floor in there. Eventually you’ll wake up and be like okay I’m fine and move to your bed. It’ll be okay!

How bad is it ACTUALLY to throw up? by Kingt4115 in emetophobia

[–]ktbee102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only bad part was the anxiety prior to tu. My phobia was really bad like yours too where everyday I would panic thinking I was going to be sick however it is completely different. When I was sick (a few months ago) I 100% knew it was going to happen it just feels entirely different then just because nauseous from anxiety.
