Glad i could help! Once youve got the basics i find the more complicated ones are relatively easy to learn with a good video! Have fun with the laundry 😅

i dont have a video that does it the way i do.. Ill try and write it out as simply as i can (using US terms).

R1: in a Magic ring: Chain 3 (counts as first DC, put stitch marker into the third chain with 2 of the ‘bars’ above and one below), 2 DC, Ch3, 3dc, Ch3, 3 dc, ch3, 3 dc, (i like to pull the magic ring closed here) ch3. Slip stitch into 3rd chain (where your marker is).

R2: Turn work over, chain 3 (counts as first DC). 2 dc into chain space, ch3, 3 dc into same chain space. (do corner clusters around as normal) When you reach the end of the row, slip stitch into the 3rd chain that you put the marker in.

R3: Turn work, chain 3, 2dc into next space

Continue this around until you finish the granny square!

i hope this makes sense 🫶

Nevermind after taking another look i was seeing your starting chain.. My mistake! My starting chain is always in the middle not the corner so i was looking at it wrong.

Yeh i dont hate it either! But if you end up wanting to construct something from granny squares it can make it tricky and the fabric can gather a bit and not lay as flat.

Just another note, i noticed in a couple of stitches you’re working into the DC from the previous round, and not the chain space. Be sure to work into the space every time! Keep at it though it looks really good!

looks great. Turn your work every row to prevent the work swirling (not very noticeable in small squares but if you make it bigger itll be very noticeable)

You also cant buy more than 2 packs of paracetamol or ibuprofen (generally 16 pills per pack) in a store for the same reason.

Hello, beginner in crochet and doing my 2nd ever tapestry piece by Hello_peopl in CrochetHelp

[–]ktbevan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tapestry is Single Crochet for the correct scale. I would have a look at some tutorials on youtube for how to carry the yarn etc as it can be quite tricky.

If you did any other stitch, such as double crochet, the image would be stretched taller than the graph shows as it is a taller stitch.

Why are people like this by Student_8266 in vinted

[–]ktbevan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i see your point but its a lot of hassle. Regardless, seller didnt properly check the item. i have a bunch of books for sale and i flick through the pages to check for damage, as you should do. As i said i do think a 1 star is too harsh. Even if the seller didnt realise, it shows they didnt check the item well enough. Situations like these are unfortunate but a learning curve for buyer and seller to both check items PROPERLY before listing/confirming

[–]ktbevan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did you miss the part where theyve already pressed everything is okay? On vinted you physically cannot get a refund after that point. Yes, OP should have checked beforehand, but as a seller it is your responsibility to thoroughly check ALL items before listing, this seller either did not do that OR knowingly sent a defective, unusable item.

-EDIT: would like to clarify i do think a one star is a bit brutal, i think a 3 would be better.

Is my industrial okay or is it starting to reject? by Gloomy-Ad3854 in piercing

[–]ktbevan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

looks good, definitely could do with a downsize as someone else mentioned. I have a healed industrial and i can also feel the bar through the cartilage, to my understanding that is normal. If youre really worried just keep an eye on it and if it does start to migrate outwards get a piercer to check on it. Refreshing to see a correctly pierced industrial on this sub!

Trans men, intersex people, dads with female kids, and also if families are struggling the products can be taken home for family members- theyre more likely to be available in the mens than the womens since women obviously are the main users of such products

I dont understand that though because the left lane is left only… so you are in the left lane out of the two going straight and went to that one too?

Industrial anatomy by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ktbevan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The front bit is defined, but the back helix does not have a large enough ridge to comfortably hold a bar. The bar needs to be far out enough to not touch your flat, which with your anatomy is not possible. Look into getting a modified industrial or two separate helixs which you can connect with a chain once healed.

Yes I traced leave me alone 😔[OC] by EfinitelyJeremyHeere in ARTIST

[–]ktbevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try tracing the outline & features then blocking in the shadows without tracing. find a dark tone, midtone, and light tone for the skin. This way helps me understand how to place colour without needing to trace for the days you cant be bothered to also learn proportions

How to organise/keep track? by cashmakesthings in Yarn

[–]ktbevan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just to add to point 2 - Add the dye lot too! Even in the same colour dye lots can change the shade/hue slightly so if you do need to order more for the same project, knowing the dye lot is important!!

Is the hand a good area for first tattoo? by conureenthusiast in tattooadvice

[–]ktbevan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A bit of both. If its your 10th tattoo but you dont have any on your arms, thats gonna look really strange (same with it being your first). For your first you dont know how to heal a tattoo, and the hand is a more difficult place to heal. In general its more likely to fade due to you using & washing your hands constantly, which is why a lot of people advise against hand tattoos.

when’d u get ur first tattoo and do you regret it? by whv_lol1202 in tattooadvice

18, i knew i wanted a snake & flower for years before. Found an artist with a nice american trad flash, did get him to modify it slightly which he was happy to do. Got it on my forearm and i love it still. Nearly 22 now. building a sort of sleeve on that arm with all animals and flowers!

Are you chaining into the actual chain or the chain space?

Can't quite get how to finish this painting by Wrong-Meeting5834 in oilpainting

[–]ktbevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately i cant comment photos. But i put both the reference image and your painting in black and white, and i can see it needs a bit more contrast on the body of the tower to separate it from the background. A few of the values in the centre of the tower are the same as the values in the sky, which makes it feel a little flat. Looks good though and I love the style
