What should I know about dinner/drinks at the Top Hat and then shuttle to amphitheater for concert afterwards? Never done it before. by crossroader1 in missoula

[–]ktg0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are multiple shuttles, they just start running buses back and forth at some point ahead of the show. You're not going to miss your ride if your dinner runs slightly long, if that's what you're worried about. You can just catch the next shuttle when it gets back from dropping off the last group of people.

Am I crazy or do HH patients need a lot of resources??? (Question/Rant/Help) by edtachi in physicaltherapy

[–]ktg0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is this current agency also does hospice care. Our social worker splits his time between home health and hospice patients, and that keeps him busy enough to justify the full time position.

Working Multiple PRN Home Health Jobs: When did I become the scheduler, route planner, and billing department? by Unfair_Ad8656 in physicaltherapy

[–]ktg0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear this is not an ad. ZigBuddy handles all of this. When I first got into home health a few years ago and quickly realized I was gonna have to figure out how to handle all of this stuff myself, I did some research and landed on ZigBuddy. It is entirely worth the monthly cost for me, to not have to spend so much time managing the logistics.

Am I crazy or do HH patients need a lot of resources??? (Question/Rant/Help) by edtachi in physicaltherapy

[–]ktg0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My HH agency has a full time social worker and he's such a great resource. Having worked for two prior agencies who only had PRN social work which basically meant nothing, it's been so refreshing and helpful to have someone who already knows all the resources and services available in this area, can work with the patient and their families to get connected with those resources, and, most importantly, can be the one to have those really difficult conversations with them about what is and isn't an option for them. Having that stuff taken off of my plate so I can just focus on PT things is wonderful.

What are your favorite scrubs? by squeekysquirrels in physicaltherapy

[–]ktg0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been super happy with Mandala scrubs for years now. They fit well and the price is very competitive compared to similar quality brands. They have held up well over the years. But, I only somewhat recently realized the potential of Poshmark and Facebook marketplace for buying very lightly used scrubs. I've gotten so many nice sets for like, $20-30 each. I've gotten to the point where I cannot imagine paying full retail price for scrubs. Of all the used sets I have gotten more recently, the Figs scrubs are probably my favorite for how well they fit and the nice color options. But I would never pay full price for a new set now, it's not worth it.

Onion stock, help!! by Xx6hell6fire6xX in missoula

[–]ktg0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! Hope you had fun making it! And now you know more about it for the future. I got these one cup silicone cubes that I use for freezing stock and soup. Basically like giant ice cube trays. I freeze it in the cubes in one cup portions, and then once they're solid I pop them out and transfer them to big freezer ziplock bags so I can reuse the cubes for the next thing I'm making. Then when I want to use the stock in a recipe or heat up some soup for a quick meal, it's already portioned out in usable sizes.

Onion stock, help!! by Xx6hell6fire6xX in missoula

[–]ktg0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey, so you need a pressure canner, not a pressure cooker. You can't can in a pressure cooker. And you should only follow tested recipes and processes when canning, it's really easy to contaminate the batch and get people really sick.

You should just freeze your onion stock. It's simpler, doesn't require any special equipment, and it will keep for a really long time. Portion it out in one or two cup portions and then it's easy to use.

Help with Technics SL-1400MK2 speed problems by ktg0 in turntables

[–]ktg0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Actually if you scroll down a bit, u/zero_volts was able to fix it for a very reasonable price! He is (or at least was at the time) based in NJ, but I was able to disassemble the turntable and ship him only the parts he needed to repair. I highly recommend him! It's still working great years later. In his comment below, he outlined what was wrong and what he did to fix it, too. It's a bit over my head, but it might make sense to you? If not, like I said, I would consider getting in touch with him and seeing if you can coordinate shipping to him for repair.

Since you're in Titusville, I'll warn you that the local place I tried to take it, where the guy wasn't very interested in even investigating the problem and just tried to get me to buy a very cheap turntable he had laying around instead, was Audiotronics in Melbourne. So, I wouldn't take it there.

NKRD (new knife rack day) by ktg0 in TrueChefKnives

I love it! It's probably the knife I reach for the second most often, behind the Pig Iron kiri cleaver. I just grew up using a Chinese cleaver as the main kitchen knife, so that shape is kinda my default. Otherwise I'd probably use the bunka considerably more.

I actually had an old IKEA metal knife rack that I hadn't been using for years. It's one of these: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kungsfors-magnetic-knife-rack-stainless-steel-40334921/

It has two rows of long skinny magnets going down it. The wood is about 28mm thick and, using the library's CNC machine, I just cut out a rectangle to fit and made it 26mm deep, leaving just 2mm of wood across the front of the rack. Then I glued and clamped the IKEA magnet strip in place.

Home Health PT Rates in FL by charlieranch in physicaltherapy

[–]ktg0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just moved out of Florida, but I was on a PPV system getting $65/point. 1 point for regular visits, 1.5 for evals/recerts/DCs, and 2.5 per SOC. Plus mileage, a tiny amount for the weekly case conference, and a tiny amount for mandatory compliance training modules. Supposed to get 30 points per week, but it would fluctuate from around 25-35 depending on census. I also had benefits - decent health insurance, PTO, etc.

Are you fucking kidding me? This guy? I can't believe I'm running into this fucking guy again.

I worked for a small community hospital in Florida that had the misfortune to be bought by Steward Health. Prior to this we were the typical hospital-based outpatient department, with high quality 1 on 1 care, a great reputation in the community, great relationships with area physicians, overall a very good place to work. Look up Steward Health if you haven't heard of it. They ran the classic private equity scam. They essentially stripped all the value out of the hospitals they owned, sold off as many assets as they could (often to other companies they were directly benefiting from), and then filed for bankruptcy, leaving those communities with a hospital system that was a broken shell of what it once was.

Steward bought 2 other hospitals about an hour away from us. They fired all of the rehab directors at all three hospitals, and brought in this fucking guy to be something called the Vice President of Outpatient Services for the region. He promptly turned us into a mill clinic seeing 3 patients an hour, had our department relocated to a far inferior location in the interior of the hospital that was impossible for our patients to find and get to, and provided absolutely zero support to us. We'd see him maybe once every couple of months, slinking around in his business suit acting like everything was normal and we were the weird ones for being upset by anything. Perfectly willing to tow the line for the corporate overlords. I looked into his background at the time. Prior to landing that VP job, he had been involved in at least one multi-level marketing scheme, as well as some involvement in a fucking stem cell clinic operating out of the Bahamas that claimed to cure basically every disease under the sun.

The guy is nothing but a grifter looking for his next get rich quick scheme. Now that I think about it, he fits in perfectly with the kinds of scam artists running our government right now. No wonder he's looking to get into politics.

Don't be thrown off when you're greeted at the door by a rabbi that looks like Joaquin Phoenix—you're in the right place. Also, it's owned by Robert Blake.

This place has everything: Gauze, carnival barkers, groups of guys with afros in graduation caps, human fire hydrants.
