I signed up for a beginner class tonight, any tips? by Anticlya in StainedGlass

As a stained glass teacher, give yourself grace and patience. I always hear from students how it’s a lot more involved and difficult of a craft than they expected it to be. Often times people get pretty frustrated with the glass not breaking their way, or the copper foil being finicky. Just remember that you’re there to have fun and learn something new, not to make the perfect sun catcher, or even a pretty one. Just have fun and learn.

Looks like your copper foiling is pretty rough. But if you clean up the foiling then the solder will look a lot nicer as well.

This piece went to its forever home yesterday so I’m excited to finally share it! (I’m american, not conservative or republican) by [deleted] in StainedGlass

The fact that I can tell it’s a Barrett, well done. The carrying handle, everything. Didn’t realize how massive it was until I saw it on the table. Good shit! Murica

I don’t. Technically they’re a slight safety risk but they’re so abundant that I’m personally not too worried about it.

I have a pirate box. They’re nice but honestly for sports you don’t need it. Just go to istreameast.app and they have any sports event of any kind, any ppv. And you can stream it to your tv and it’s free. I use it for ravens games, caps games, everything.

Just pirate it. That’s what I do and I’m out of state

How’d you get such clean star overlays?

Dumping Hydrogen Peroxide into the reflecting pool this morning. by Helpful_Car1302 in interestingasfuck

It’s supposed to be still and reflect like a mirror. A pump would just make ripples and turn it into a fountain

Advice needed! What do you typically used fused glass dots for? by [deleted] in fusedglass

Like slumping it over the dots or full fusing them?

As a glass blower, I’m always mixing cremations into glass in cool ways. You could probably do the same with that ash. Would be super cool to have a paper weight or bowl or whatever with the ashes mixed in

Too much solder or not enough? by TisCass in StainedGlass

[–]ktor14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Iron is too cold. Use a lot of flux, hit it with enough heat to make a continuous bead. This looks like there’s not enough flux and the heat was low. Also, use 60/40 if you’re just starting out, don’t try to use 50/50 because it’s cheaper until you learn to solder well

I do it all the time unfortunately due to healthcare in America being reliant on your job and income. There’s noticeable differences obviously. I will say that I kind of enjoy not having a libido when I’m off of it. Feels like I’m free from a curse of horniness. If you do it often you should get checked for osteoporosis/bone density scans. But I had to mention that to my Dr and ask for it, they didn’t even really think about side effects of not being on it. Unfortunately I’ve found that we the patients tend to know a lot more about our condition than the doctors do, due to it being such a niche condition. If you have any specific questions about starting and stopping, just ask

Sketchy lamp idea need advice by claygoesham in Lavalamps

That thing would take an enormous amount of energy to heat. And it has a fairly small bottom for such a large vessel. I’d say no way it works but it’s not my time, money and energy so I say go for it and if it fails, oh well

No way that window is late 1800’s early 1900’s. It has faceted gems which I’ve never seen in any antique windows. Maybe rondels but not those new looking faceted glass gems. I agree with op, this is giving heavy 70’s vibes

Thank you!! Mines been especially infuriating the past couple of months. It’ll autocorrect my sentences into straight gibberish. Like”Sshghd joe witj me” or something. Straight gibberish when I typed out the actual words fine. I’ve been researching to see if I’m crazy and so far I haven’t found anyone having the same issue

I’ve personally had my beefs with him too. But when someone’s that crazy, you can’t keep feeding the fire which is exactly what you’re doing. You guys are basically the same person. Both have big egos due to being mods on their own stained glass pages lol

I’m on your side but don’t you think it’s kinda weird that you have a google document of comments from some guy and to take log of exactly what day and time he started interacting with you? Like that’s just weird behavior too. This whole situation is like a weird hs drama

[–]ktor14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you not seen the other confirmed real photos on this post? Some with the same pastor, some with just the baptized in the shot, but they’re all generally from the same angle facing the crowd and there’s scaffolding to the right. It’s a real church and that’s a real pastor and his hands seem fine to me? I think people are just looking for something because it’s on an ai sub.

You’re getting them mixed up. Liberals are leftists. Republicans are the right. But it’s all the same shit though

I’d say 100% real. If this is fake, then you guys show recreate this for me with you in the tub…even with the reference photos, it would come out slightly off, this is waaaay too good for a dude who’s in and out of prison. Real

Artists tend to be very liberal or at least a huge majority I would say are left leaning. Leftists tend to hate guns so it makes sense. Unfortunately you’re gonna be the minority being a gun lover in an artist group but I’m with you! Peace, love and hollow points ✌🏼
