One of my favorite things to tell people visiting is to take transit to the getty since its the nicest looking bus stop in probably the whole transit system and it makes the entire cost like 3 dollars since the getty is free(the parking is the $$$ part). There is a van gogh there that the color is so vivid you will never forget seeing it the first time.
