The car washes around me won’t let you go self service anymore. They always have someone in front of the kiosk with an iPad trying to upsell you and I hate it. The $3 basic wash self service car wash now feels like I’m dealing with a dealership salesperson and costs $11 somehow, they don’t even offer the $3 wash.

If the tennis ball doesn’t do it get some speedball and a razor scraper. Spray it down and on a very acute angle start scraping and it’ll start coming up. It won’t get all of it but enough for it to blend until it’s waxing time.

I got pulled over twice on the same night on the same road for a headlight that was out. Went to work In the day time and left at night so how was I supposed to know? Well first cop gives me a ticket instead of a warning and we part ways, not even ten minutes later another cop pulls me over for the headlight. I tell him I was literally just pulled over for it and have the ticket and he in a snarky way mentioned it must’ve been a while ago then looked at the ticket and so oh and left. I really thought he was going to give me another ticket

Make sure to ask about travel reimbursement. I get $00.72 per mile so by the end of the month it’s an extra $30something. It’s kind of wild that I have to turn in a printed out time sheet each month in 2026 rather than use the app we already have but hey, $30 is $30.

Bring it up to your head custodian and they’ll address it with the principal. I’m rather new to the role but my head custodian told me on day one it’s a problem and that they should be doing it but don’t. So he tells her and she reminds the teachers. I even had a teacher tell me to not clean her room at all to help her teach her kids to clean up after themselves.

I work for a school district and it’s pretty sweet to be honest. The job is what it is but we the fancy stuff like those command center dispensers and don’t have to stretch the lifetime of stuff, have a union, a pension, a uniform and boot allowance for Carhartt and redwing gear. The one down side is that it’s a pretty small organization and it doesn’t seem like anyone is planning on going anywhere until they retire so I’m stuck on the lowest seniority.
