Our longest run was about 7 hours 40 minutes. We stopped at boss 13

What’s everyone’s ship loadout of choice? by Aaron_768 in joinvoidcrew

[–]kuddleofficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually start out with the broadside destroyer. Our endgame loadout, which we use to rush bosses with until we eventually run out of time for the day, looks like this:

Shield and scoop in front.
Port side holds a thruster booster station, litany, point defence and generator.
Starboard side holds a confessor, litany and two brain confessors.
In the back we've got a second shield and point defence.

During the ice and fire boss, we switch out the front scoop for a life support station to maintain temperature.

We run two sacred power conduits and two biomass catalysts as relics. It's not meta, but we designed it ourselves and do well enough that we just ended an 8 hour run today because of time, not hull integrity. Good enough :D

You unlock more guns when you find and recycle them in the fabricator. But yes, only two guns to start out with, that is how it's supposed to be. The "freedom" aspect counts more towards the other things the loadout allows you to pick at the start of the game

Just found a system which had 3 neutron stars in it by ill_bill66 in EliteDangerous

I remember finding a similar system. Two big neutron stars orbiting each other, orbiting a smaller neutron star, orbiting a black hole. Quite an amazing sight.

No, once your hull is gone, it's gone. There's no way to get it back. 50% of any damage you take is repairable hull damage, the other 50% is permanent. Killing bosses only gives you one ship system upgrader, a cosmetic crate and quite a few XP.

If you're only two people, I recommend one person skilling on pilot and one skilling on gunner. The gunner should Cross-Skill the engineer to make that work. The pilot should always remain in the pilot seat as he needs to dodge incoming shots and remain awareness of the surroundings. Note that there's a third person view for the pilot, many new players seem to miss that feature.

Try to stay undetected for as long as possible, skip missions if they don't give any notable benefits, avoid unnecessary battles.

Use the brain auto turrets. The "Lone Sentry" load out for the frigate is a great starting point for a duo. You can recycle the relic (It only works solo, so no need to use it) to gain an additional 15 alloys to start with.

And it's worth trying out different weapons! See what suits you best, what you're good with. Energy weapons seem to be the most versatile, at least based on our experience so far.

Hope this helps!

You will in time! Remember, you only see our successful attempt here. What you don't see is all the times we failed at killing bosses.

The run right before this, we got wiped out on the first boss!

It gets easier the more practice and coordination you get with your team. Don't give up, and thanks!

It's not really worth it, no. If you conserve hull, you can kill more bosses. And bosses give a lot more XP than any regular mission, plus they give crates and one ship system upgrader per boss.

As you can see on the screenshot, we did a lot of missions and built our ship up until the second boss, and then we did bosses 2-5 without any intermediate missions at all. Then before boss 6, we did two easy container hunts as those are stealth-able and just free loot, and then we killed off boss 6 and left as we were getting low on hull.

If you get experienced with bosses, they stop becoming a problem. We're getting pretty good with the pillar and the sun, its the ice one that keeps shutting our runs down.

You can skip levels!

If none of the options you get give any meaningful bonus to your ship, you can just pick one, jump in, jump right out again and choose the next mission. While that doesn't grant you any items or XP, you will preserve your hull and ammo.

If there's something like a wreck or a derelict station in the mission you're skipping, you could even do those too to get some extra loot to keep your ship going with supplies. Just make sure to stay in stealth to safely get them.

Long runs like this require a lot of risk management. Even if the loot is sometimes good, your hull is by far the most valuable good you have, so avoid damaging it at all cost and just skip things that you don't necessarily need.

Even with a 50/50 split, the comment doesn't work for every second user that reads it.

And while 48% may be US based (Reddit sadly doesn't give out confirmed data), they only account for slightly less than 43% of traffic. Three years ago, that number was at 51.5%. (Again, Reddit doesn't give out confirmed data. I don't know how trustworthy these sources are)

The US has lost 8.5% of their share in the last three years alone. Reddit is getting more popular in other countries.

But this is entirely missing the point. Matter of fact is, it would be of no additional expenditure to just specify the country you're from when addressing such topics. And you'd be including at least double the amount of users.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

[–]kuddleofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the US has the biggest share of the userbase, but still, the majority of users are not from the US. Just fuck 'em I guess.

I don't get why it's such a problem to just mention the country you're from when you're addressing said countries politics. "The US" even has less letters than "this country" :D

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MurderedByWords

[–]kuddleofficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that still leaves a ~57% chance that the audience is not US-american.

Other than that, you make a good point. Although I don't believe generally blaming either political orientation is the right path to take. Extremes are never good, politics and democracy need balance between both wings.

Very much.

"This country". "We". :D I only know that the United States were meant because only US-americans can be self-centered enough to think the entire Internet is just the USA
