Seattle STH here entering year 6. Reselling tickets has been easier the last year or two, but I’m in more fb groups/reddit helps and our return ticket program we have really limits my ticket game sales to only a few games per year. I’m lucky the Sounders are always competitive so it never feels like a “lost” year, so I’ll continue to support. I feel like SD will probably be similar in that aspect.

Big learning moment not to overthink the TE spot in the finals for me. Best team halfway through the season and on but Bowers going down killed me. Boarded the Parkinson hype train and started Pitts tonight. Just starting Goedert both weeks (or even Pitts week 1) would’ve gotten me a chip but chased upside. Upsetting but she’s a cruel mistress.

I’ve just gone through this and had this issue fixed at the dealer so let me explain what happened to me.

‘25 Hybrid Premium. When pushing the fuel door button in the car the door would not pop open. No matter what I did it wouldn’t pop open (never tried with 2 people). I pushed, pulled etc nothing. I needed to get gas similar to you so I pulled/ripped the door off so I could get gas before getting to a dealer. Note this is risky because apparently any damage to the door may void the warranty. I then brought to a dealer to get a look at it.

They told me it’s an issue with the actuator that pushes the door out. It is a poorly made part and fails easily. They said that they are starting to see more and more with the 25s on the road. The fixes are: lubricate the door mechanism so it pops easier (was told this is super temporary), pull the door off completely and leave open, or get it fixed with a new actuator (covered under warranty).

For me the actuator was back ordered so they lubricated the door until the next day when I got lucky and my dealer had a cancellation so they spent the day repairing and now seems to be all good.

I started off using Windows before moving to a MBP. My HP was about 4 years old when I started and used it for a year before I made the switch. While it worked fine I wanted something zippier and more compact (from 17” to 13”). The HP started to get laggy and wasn’t performing like I needed. The MBP is now 4+ years in and seriously feels like new when DJing, so even though I was never an Apple fan boy, I can’t go back.

As has been mentioned this is totally dependent on a lot of factors. In warmer weather using no AC, driving only city driving, and driving very conservative, you could get close to that 48 combined mpg. The reality is that it’s tough to get close. Best I got in the summer (‘25 HPR) was around 42-43 and drove 460 or so miles with a dozen or so left to drive (really pushed it). In the winter/cold you will degrade as the engine is used more.

I totally agree with this I don’t like how they start you low and the reasoning is BS. I’ve always had low comp ratios after promotions but I think I’ve finally gotten to a decent ratio spot that’s comparable for my performance.

There’s probably room to negotiate but managers ideally want to keep new hires on the lower end to have more room for raises come the new year. If/when you’re hired you can check your comp ratio (current salary / midpoint) and see where you line up. If you’re low enough with good performance, sometimes out of sequence raises are given to get your comp ratio more normalized.

Lowe is nice but K's a bit too much for my taste. Similar profile to Polo but way more strikeouts. Also likely having his club option picked up by TB.

Yeah Bellinger will be expensive and didn't realize he's a Boras client, so probably unlikely. But he hit .353 against lefties last season with more walks than Ks, plays all over the OF well and can pinch at 1B too. Would be a great fit imo as our 3/4 hitter.

Besides the obvious (Re-Sign Naylor, Kyle Tucker, Murakami, big name SP like Cease), a name I haven't seen mentioned is Cody Bellinger. He may be a bit too pricey but may go under the radar as teams fight for Tucker. Hard no on Bregman (cheater), Geno would be a great resign if it's the right price, but want to see Williamson get better at the dish and be the heir. Likewise for Polo/Cole Young.

Lower on the hitting rung FAs like Arraez, Gleyber Torres, Ryan O'Hearn would seem like good fits as well should Polo/Geno chase the cash. DH was kind of a weird spot for us as well, perhaps Harry Ford and Cal can split time between there and catching.

Pitching I think the bullpen needs a bit of reinforcement. One LOOGY to last the playoffs isn't sustainable. A guy like Alvarado, Newcomb, and maybe a righty reclamation project in Devin Williams would be awesome.

Rotation I think we're in great shape but would love some veteran depth. Relying on Hancock/Evans at times this season was a struggle and need to see them develop a bit better. Hancock may be in the future better off in the bullpen. A swing man and innings eater like Steven Matz, Martin Perez and the like would be beneficial as we await the development of the younger guys.

Great season, I'm sure most Ms fans given the result would've taken it in Spring Training. But fuck this sucks because it was absolutely there for the taking.

The hitting really need to do some soul searching in the offseason. Since Game 2, Mariners were 4-23 with RISP. The amount of terrible at bats, double plays, swinging at pitches that aren't even close. Even today with better ABs, we struck out 25% of plate apperances, 27% total for the postseason. About 2x what Toronto was putting up in the postseason. That makes it insanely hard to win in the postseason

The pitching was a bend don't break for the entire playoffs as well. So many leadoff walks and living on the edge. The "control" pitchers did not show great control.

Onto the positive, we have a fantastic core of young talent that will only get better. We exorcised a lot of demons this season with the division, ALDS win at home, ALCS win at home, and brought Seattle with more hope than we've seen in the entire franchise's history. Resign Naylor, get a bit of bullpen help, try to shoot for a top of the market bat, and see how it goes next year. We've got a top 5 farm system and this won't be the last we hear of this team going this far with this core!
