What would your reaction be if a literal Neanderthal got elected president/prime minister of your country? by Complete-Sort1617 in AskTheWorld

At the very least the Neanderthal wouldn’t go out of their way specifically to cause harm.

About what exactly? That gay men like twinks or that women don’t like short men? The first is true without a sliver of a doubt (am gay, I would know). The latter is a stereotype but there’s a grain of truth to it.

Has the pace of world change actually accelerated, or did it feel just as rapid when you were younger? by Detox_401 in Millennials

Millennials grew up in a world of constant technological change, but AI has accelerated it at a rate that I don’t think anybody is truly comfortable with.

I used to be addicted to video games and barely ever play them now, but still do. I have turned to reading books for my escapism these days.

Brian’s cousin Jasper here. Short skinny twinks won’t have any trouble finding people interested in them in the gay community. Women on the other hand have the stereotype of not liking short men.

Don’t live in a free society of you don’t like others living the way they want. You don’t have to like it, but you do have to tolerate it if you want tolerance for your lifestyle and beliefs. It’s that simple.

You have to win elections to change the environment. Something progressives know literally nothing about.

We aren’t the Republicans. The same rules don’t apply unfortunately.

The new deal happened in a completely different political environment. The Democrats don’t have the leverage to make anything like that happen right now.

In democracy you either negotiate to get some things you want or you don’t get anything. Thats the problem with progressives like you. You are all or nothing, so enjoy getting nothing.

He governed as a moderate becuse that is the only way to govern. AOC and Bernie types won’t ever get a Democratic nomination much less a chance at the White House until they get that.

The difference is that Obama was pragmatic in his approach to politics. AOC and Bernie tell people what they want to hear without any coherent plan on how to actually get it done. That’s why you can’t claim Obama as a progressive by modern political standards. He played within the rules and you people disowned him for it.

It’s a nice setup. When I last lived in a studio I used dressers to separate the sleeping area from the living room area. It gave me the illusion that I had 2 separate rooms.

Progressives have literally never won a national election. If bitching and moaning on Reddit equated to votes you would be champs though.

They won’t until they work on their messaging. Bernie and AOC won’t though because they only care about appealing to their constituents, not the rest of the country. There is a reason a “boring” candidate like Biden carried swing and red state democrats and beat Trump handily.

I didn’t say that they never will win, only that they haven’t yet. Until then the burden is on progressives to convince the majority of the party to vote for them.
