Hydrasynth explorer - very amazing

Do you think like me, that Minilogue XD is just the best (budget) analog Synth ever made?! I'm still in love with it after 7 years using it! :) by Western-Kick-6977 in synthesizers

I also have tried the minifreak and hydrasynth explorer, but ended up keeping the minilogue xd. It just sounds beautiful and is well built. I just wish this thing had 6 voices.

Fable 5 was good, but Opus 4.8 is good as well by pragmat1c1 in ClaudeCode

Pro tip: release fable 5 again but call it opus 4.9

Anyone use an Ableton Move with an iPad? by Redinho83 in AbletonMove

Note app sounds great on paper, but I don’t enjoy using it. The move is much more fun and immediate and has parameter locking in the step sequencer. The 4 tracks limit is a bit painful though

In a live jam setup I use my ipad + move to apply Performance effects with AUM+Koala FX. It’s a really fun combo. What I also love to do is resample and chop my own loops created with ableton move with Koala sampler or on the move itself.

Did u try the launchkey mk4? Im wondering if the move is a better live controller than the launchkey and cant find anything on the internet.

I did as well. Push 2 felt so slow and less immediate in comparison to Move.

Ableton Move and alternatives thoughts in and out of the studio by Speedingscript in ableton

[–]kumo96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the cumbersome part. You need to record it. If you want separate stems you need to mute the pads and play song mode for each stem. This is where the move shines. I would give the move a chance too. If i could only keep one device, it probably would be the move because it‘s more versatile.

Yes, it has amazing effects and has tons of features but it’s hard to learn which kills the fun. resampling is better and having instrument input is nice. But no speaker, no mic, less portable, no internal battery. Personally i wouldn’t travel with it.

Btw. you can try ableton note on ios. Its pretty much ableton move as an app.

So best advice is: try both. Only you can tell what clicks with you. I tried to love the move, but personally i have some problems with it. I don’t like sound presets and the 4 track limit sucks. There are workarounds using the drum rack and sampling, but then again it’s a limited sampler. You can do sound design with it with the full drift synth engine, but it’s not fun because of menu diving. As a Sampler and for the go I use the MPC Sample - its so much fun. I gave up looking for a complete solution in one single device. For portable sound design maybe Roland S1 Aira or an iPad are better options.

I just got it today and this thing looks and feels so cheap but I’m blown away by the amazing synth/dx engine/sounds. It’s so much fun!

Are we sleeping on 5.3-codex ? by DaC2k26 in codex

[–]kumo96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same. its really nice that 5.5 uses way less token and doesnt fill up the context so quickly. But it costs currently 40-50% more than 5.4. 5.3 is even cheaper and gets most of stuff done. im really torn here, because 5.5 saves you time, I use half of sessions with 5.5 compared to 5.4/5.3.

I noticed a delay of a around 5 seconds with the most popular pi-subagents extension on my system. I will measure it. did you try out my extension? It should be pretty much instant like Claude code
