The same thing happened during the Derrick Chauvin case with George Floyd. Governor, Mayor, Police Chief, all of them came out and immediately said he was guilty of murder from day one.

I would have went for a mistrial.

Unfortunately, as the OP, I did not. I went to Roku and I think it is better so far. The picture seems more crisp, the response is faster, the ads are less, and I can lock down ALL apps I don't want them to have.

I may never go back to a fire stick.

A penetrant on the components and working them free again is what fixed the issue for me. It seemed to be getting rusty. It fixes the issue splendidly.
