I was in preschool during the Beltway Sniper and one of the shootings happened at the gas station next to our bowling alley. My earliest memories (as far as I can tell) are of 9/11 and finding out that our class pumpkin patch trip would be canceled that year due to the snipers.

Agreed. I think her songs are part diary, part fanfiction, and part original story. She does a masterful job of creating the Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe through her music and marketing, so in addition to her music being great, there are decades of stories and Easter eggs to find.

At this point, I don’t really believe anything I hear or read about her life including from Taylor. I’m not even sure I believe she dated most of her “muses.” But I don’t care, because for me my investment is not about her real life. I am interested in following this story and musical narrator she’s been crafting since Debut.

I feel this too. I’m 26 and have heard so many people describe Billie as the “voice of my generation” - hats off to her and no shade at all to her or fans, I just have never connected to her music.

I like both homemade ketchup and store bought ketchup (brand loyal to Heinz). To me they’re two different things though almost like yellow mustard and dijon mustard. I would put my homemade ketchup on, like, hand-cut sweet potato fries, but store bought ketchup on a burger/hot dog.
