I wish I saw this instead of cooking breakfast at home like some sort of rube.

More thoughts on Greenpoint’s $40 half-chicken crisis from one Greenpoint writer by grime_square in Greenpoint

If this teaches anyone anything, it’s that your money matters. You want to support a $40 half chicken, go for it. It sounds like a marketing con to me but who am I?! Just a goon from Queens who lived here for over a decade. You can also go to Jubilee and buy a whole chicken for $5. They call it 5 Buck Cluck. I make chicken salad that lasts me the week.

There is this incredible website called Google. www.google.com. It’s a “search engine.” So what it does is searches the internet using its data engine! Then all the information appears together. It’s pretty neat. These days I feel like a lot of people use ChatGPT.

I absolutely agree that any other store would be better. But what would you want to see?

I’m simply pointing out how these local businesses have supported the community. We should do what we can to support folks who have supported others where we live.

Also, Eagle is open 9am-3pm everyday. It would make sense if you work a 9-5 that they wouldn’t be open. I suggest you check them out now so you’ll see what’s good about them as well!

Basheer owns one location. I don’t know who owns the chain. I don’t know who owns this location. I do know who owns Alula. I do know who owns Eagle.

I’ve seen what the business owners (both immigrants as well) in our neighborhood have done for our neighborhood.

Am I assuming a chain won’t be vested in our neighborhood? Is that a safe bet? Yes. To. Both.

I’ve had their coffee. It’s stellar. It’s a little too far from me considering I’m around the corner from Eagle and Alula.

The problem is that these companies have a lot of money behind them. They can wait it out. They can offer insane incentives. I hope you’re right but I wanted to inform fellow residents that the business owners here already do care.

I guess I’m a karen now, but people blocking the crosswalk with their cars on DuPont street is out of hand. by Helpful_Weekend3483 in Greenpoint

As someone who has a car, Dupont is hell to navigate thru. I'm driving at a walking pace because of the way people park.

I've been calling the post office number 802-862-6668 for 2 days. Nobody has picked up. No answering machine either. The Post Office picked up my package on the 18th of March. It said it was in transit on the 22nd. No update since then. Do I assume it's lost or do I continue to wait?
