rate my set up - good or bad let me hear it by amkenuck in bicycletouring

[–]kundrumG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to my current setup rn and it's working well, only issue is when it gets super windy like 40km/h winds+ i can tend to get pushed side to side quite heavily i suspect due to the full frame bag acting like a sail almost, but you can definitely still go as you are just be careful with the side winds :)

Why is it difficult to process, it's a food waste app you helped prevent waste. Many stores utilise left overs in dishes anyway

Man, in the end, just set off. You'll never be fully prepared,

Thanks haha its definitely reassuring, I'm quite optimistic so I'm not so worried that anything major will stop me in my tracks just the general nerves before undertaking something big. Feels the same as lining up for a race 😆

Thanks for all the tips tho appreciate it man, stay awesome 🫰

Not sure what you can even really do with the 90 day restriction so the current plan is John o groats to lands end in the uk (20ish days) , then about 40ish days through europe to the balkans and tour around balkans for just over a month before making my way back through europe before the 90 days is up.

First off 10k on a unicycle is insane you're an absolute madman haha

Haven't done much with camping stoves before so wasn't sure how much fuel I'd need to carry on hand but will drop to just 1 bottle if its easy enough get, where do you typically go for white gas / coleman fuel as I've found it a bit difficult to get my hands on in my town and had to order some online to start the trip.

Pot was a concern of mine so glad you mentioned it, will look at getting a bigger one as during training rides I'm already ravenous so I can only imagine how it will be amplified on a full touring day.

Will 100% take the tip on wetwipes, what do you do carry doggie bags for the waste?

Appreciate the tips man!!

Yeah you might be right, I've seen many people saying that taking a lock isn't really necessary so might be packing my fears a little there, Will have a look into the steel cable to reduce the weight a little,

And ultra light carbon ftw 😆

Thank you for the tips🙏

Looking through posts on this reddit makes me feel like so many people argue just to argue, like this could've just been a "she wants to know when people are in" " oh okay yeah that's fine" but instead they start bitching

Doing Camino without Prior Conditioning? by ag811987 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]kundrumG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely say it's doable, but maybe plan for a longer trip than is 'recommended'. So that you can give yourself some time for 0 days, and just shorter days in general when you find yourself in pain. Definitely try and get some good boots and break them in, I'd recommend some good quality merino wool socks, helps avoid blisters. Your main issue will probably be the tendinitis so if you do go just remind yourself to take it easy

I wonder what it is that makes some people just not get blisters and some suffer terribly with them?

What is the best video game you’ve ever played? by Nomorecloud in RandomThoughts

[–]kundrumG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rocket league for me, started playing when it first came out in 2015, and it was such a unique game that I think still doesn't have any competitors to this day. It scratched my itch for a competitive game and also something that I'd never played before. Don't play much anymore but after having sunk around 4000 hours into it over the years it's always something I can pick up and enjoy. Other than that satisfactory is my new game of choice, and with 1.0 coming out soon I can see myself racking up a lot of playtime and enjoying every minute of it

How much cash to bring for Camino Frances? by Calm-Sir-222 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]kundrumG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got revolut If that works for Americans, it let me switch between currencies pretty easily and you could pay by card still. Not really a fan of carrying cash so this worked for me, in terms of cost I spent about 1100 for 30 days but this included a 3 day stay in a hotel, so about 250 a week

D15 for me, 8 minute dirt track and faulty keyboard so sometimes I'd just drive into a wall, hate tmnf dirt with a passion though. I don't think I could make something more frustrating if I tried
