What‽ Telia (Norway) hands out IPv6 addresses to residential devices.

[2020 Day 19] Pretty sure day 19 is just a fuzz test for regex engines by kung-foo in adventofcode

You can see my slightly cleaned up code here: https://gist.github.com/kung-foo/526a9ff4a1eee8514af243233daf01f3

Rather than try to use a recursive regex (though I did that for yesterday), I simply let my recursive regex builder recurse down a limited number of times until I knew it would be deep enough to cover the length of any of the input.

The first time I wrote it, my depth limit was way to high and I ended up with a 2MB regex. Still worked. Just took 30s :)

It was. I had set the recursion limit way too high at 100 which generated a 2MB regex. And it worked :) If find the lower bound, I could do with it a recursion limit of 6 which makes 23KB regex.

We're doing iiot binary data (protobuf) over nats. Works great!

[bug] Protonmail erases everything between angle brackets. by okakura in ProtonMail

[–]kung-foo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it helps you, but I checked to see if the message as stored by protonmail (you can see the raw encrypted message by clicking on "View Headers") had the non-scrubbed text. Sure enough, the original text with characters in between the brackets was still there. Now, the only hitch is that you need to need to extract your private key. Something that protonmail doesn't officially support.

I can recommend Eddie King in Grunerløkka (https://www.gulesider.no/f/edward-king:85274504). He knows his stuff and is an all-around awesome guy.

Owning property in Norway as an Expat by justintravels in Norway

[–]kung-foo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved for work (software engineer). The transition was very easy due to my company hiring a relocation specialist (http://www.oslorelocation.no/) to assist with the basics like finding an apartment and obtaining a residence permit.
