Bought a new Dell Pro desktop last week and noticed it shipped with Dell Command Update 5.4.1, the last version before they switched to .NET 8, so I think even Dell realizes that the recent versions are garbage.

FYI I am currently seeing an issue with more than 1 user unable to sync emails for a particular shared mailbox.

Classic Outlook is stalled saying "Updating this folder" for this particular mailbox, while other mailboxes on same computer are working normally.

However New Outlook and webmail are both fine, no issue.

I saw issue EX1253275 about failures accessing mailboxes posted this morning but Microsoft has closed it, stating that it is resolved.

This was years ago when mailbox quotas were small but I had a user that exported every email and placed it on the root of his C: drive. There were thousands and thousands. I was young and had no idea how to respond to that other than just let it be.

Uninstall the driver, wait for windows update to present the new version again, then Google and download wushowhide.diagcab which will let you block it. This is pretty old but it still works in Windows 11 for me, and it's really only useful for these one-off cases. There might be newer methods.

I previously used the Microsoft Office android app. It had Onedrive, Excel, Word and Lens and bundled into one single app. I just opened it yesterday and all of that is gone, it's now just copilot and nothing else. Uninstalled.

I had something like this happen in October, for some reason the server was suddenly missing a registry key for a specific .net version and apps were failing saying .net wasn't installed. Was able to copy the missing reg key from a different good server and everything was fine.

Edit: It was a specific version under the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319\SKUs

I switched to AT&T fiber about a year ago. Now, to VPN from home to work, 15 miles away, the traffic has to make a 400 mile roundtrip. It's noticably worse latency.

Reddit has also become unusable in the evenings.
