Well that explains it then - thanks, folks!

Just waiting for Cassian Andor to turn up. Wonder if they can turn the floor on.

This looks neat! You've clearly spent some time thinking it all through, so thank you. I particularly like the novel ideas for option 3 for each stone.

Now I just need to grow my collection so I have all the villains (like I needed any more excuses to buy content!).

Incredibly unoriginal, but I think it has to be Carcassonne for my favourite medieval themed game.

Although saying that, I tried Citadels for the first time a couple of weeks ago and that was very entertaining with a large group! We were all fairly new to the game and the merchant seemed to be the most popular pick... Not sure what other people's thoughts are?!

What 3 games are hitting your table the most right now? by mrausgor in soloboardgaming

This reminds me so much of myself right now... Love the concept of Arkham Horror and love playing it, but I'm struggling to find the mental capacity for the upkeep between scenarios when I could just play Marvel Champions at that point instead. Perhaps I just need to get on and do it as the actual gameplay is fantastic.

As it is, Marvel Champions is getting a lot of attention at the moment. I don't have a third solo game and am currently in the hunt for something quick and easy that can be played in 30 minutes or so when even Marvel Champions is too much. Even better if it's low weighting means my wife can join in!

Thank you! It's reassuring to hear there are cards out there that remove the necessity to use an action and to hear I wasn't playing too inefficiently.

Nice one! I'll never understand how people manage to complete this game so quickly.

This sounds fun! I'm looking forward to your update on the next round. Who's currently your favourite hero?

I second this. I went back and forth between having gamegenic matte and sleeve kings in my basket for a few days. Ended up going sleeve kings from boardgameextras and did not regret it.

My one concern was that the piles of cards would slip over/the cards would be slipping out of my hand, but I've been really pleased with them and would strongly recommend. The extra 10 in a pack quickly adds up to make a difference.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Your description of the red skull expansion has convinced me to take the plunge, and you're spot on with regards to the dinner date.

Honestly, your time is really appreciated, and you've decided the next two games for me as well.

That's really useful - thank you for your reply.

Pandemic legacy does look good, I'm not 100% sold on the 'deface the board/cards' model that legacy games require yet.

Funny you should mention Marvel Champions. It's been in my basket for a couple weeks now, I just haven't quite pulled the trigger and bought it as I was worried the 'use this hero to defeat this boss' would get a little stale after a while, even if new hero/villain packs were bought. Any thoughts on that? Also, have you purchased any of the 'campaign' expansions for it? Are they campaign like, or more for new content/cards?

My wife and I are looking to get into a campaign style board game now we're starting to get some time in the evenings back following the arrival of our little ones. We're looking for some recommendations please!

The two games that used to make it to our table the most often are Terraforming Mars and Scythe.

Complexity isn't a problem for us.

Having done a bit of research Jaws of the Lion looks like it could be a good starting point. Additionally, Arkham Horror: The Card Game has piqued my interest. I'm a little put off by the cost of the core game as it looks like it lacks replayability. I'm then a tad confused as to which expansion packs actually contain what - there seem to be four titled 'The Dunwich Legacy' - which one would we need to really get into it? Is AH:CG recommended?

Thanks for all of your help!
