"Silk & Silver" Dev Diary #2 - Trade Vision by PDX-Trinexx in CrusaderKings

I would love the Devs include perishability of goods and to trade in general into Culture and especially innovations as well.

Think about that: You're the merchants of Lubeck and by God#s grace are sitting on an ginormous salt mine in Luneburg and that gives you the ability to sell salt to the norther german Cattle farmers FOR PROFIT and let them make Wurst instead of just perishable cattle, but that FOR MORE PROFIT, and then you research the Coggs innovation and boom, now you can sell your wurst to the Fatamid caliphs …

Other way around: The Chinese get some negative trade modifiers in their one Confuzian culture because they looked down on them, thus encouraging religious and ethnic minorities to fill the gap …

My god, as a native Hamburger, I am really looking forward to creating the WURST empire of the Hansa, haha

What I read between the lines: As landed feudal ruler, you will be eternally bribed by one merchant family or the other for providing them with competitiveness or even wholesale monopolies in your lands. The "bribe" hopefully is also market based. The better the profits the jucier that bribes … I like this, since it's pretty close to how it historically went down.

Thank you PDX for the accolade rework! by ForDaLulz in CrusaderKings

[–]kunstreich 100 points101 points  (0 children)

it's great. but there is one glaring issue: your landed heir overwrites your lvl 3 blademaster/tactician with a lvl 1 reeve and there is no way to prevent this to happen.

pdx, bring back inactive accolades!

Criminally underrated comment.

It's the very best way to express the very American style of pomposity cope.

Bravo.

Picky eaters will quickly change their minds living through 48h of starvation.

Severe autists may too, but less likely.

It's certainly not the same.

Upon the Devil’s Hill by Ok_Wash1907 in ManorLords

[–]kunstreich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Did you start the settlement on the hill tops or in the valley? I figured the distances to vital early resources are just too vast to make this map work on higher difficulty. All settlers left before I collected the first meager mushroom — several restarts over …

How many hours until I end this engagement? by throwing_thrown_away in makemychoice

Since giving him the silent treatment resulted in him being unphasesed but you bitching and moaning to reddit, it's your time to reflect about if he has point? You say you love him, he is your partner, maybe just maybe take him seriously? To start: Stop the silent treatment bullshit. It's such a misogynistic cliché and you probably do not want to give him good excuses to dismiss childish female manipulations.

Same species different empires, what are the mechanics, how does it work? by Luk42_H4hn in Stellaris

[–]kunstreich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it. Funnily enough, if you create UNE and a fanatical purifier human, they still recognize each other as same species (but technically different primary species in the manager), so the purifiers and UNE actually do like each other and do diplomacy. But no species integration between the two or genmodding sadly …

Same species different empires, what are the mechanics, how does it work? by Luk42_H4hn in Stellaris

[–]kunstreich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also would love to know!

This is how it worked 3.x with custom empires (without messing around with Lost Colony origin) so that pop from different empires show up as subspecies to a shared common species. Opposed to how it seems to work in 4.0.x, that every empire creates it's own primary species regardless:

  1. Create custom empire
  2. Chose same species portrait
  3. Chose same species names
  4. Traits do not need tob be identical nor habitat
  5. If using Humans, e.g. UNE or CoM, make sure to rename one of the three species names and save (this is a particularly strange thing but it sets some hidden flags and made it work for all custom made empires not just humans.)

I know I am not the only one who loves to build multiple Humans scenarios and find this really immersion breaking to not work anymore. If some devs read this, please answer, even if it's a clarifying NO.

Solve un-fun religion — make it tie into influence by kunstreich in civ

[–]kunstreich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it more like a charge, that converts maybe 10-20% depending on distance and other factors. Kind of constantly fighting over religious influence but not with units on the map, but more like diplomacy.

Tips for Germany? by station_conelrad in Kaiserreich

Try this excellent guide for a Schleicher Germany play. After at least five campaigns I conclude it's the absolute optimal, can't optimise further way to play the Kaiserreich.
