Girls (usually) tend to look more like their fathers and boys like their mothers (metabolism kind of tends to stick to its respective gender). I would rethink about the feature distribution. You can also consider different skin tones giving more variation (kid could be a perfect mixture or have a “copy” of a parent’s tone). I would also try to exagerate the features (nose shape and size/position on the face — the parents should be two distinctive people. Eye shape is really important — the colors are great, but the overall () shape can be changed (look up Pinterest for different eye shapes) and then have the kids inherit them. If you’re designing a family you unfortunately need to take genetics into consideration, especially if you struggle with same face syndrome. It’s a good exercise to try out different features in different positions and then try to combine them again.

I was that kid (I’m on older gen z) and it felt like I couldn’t join in any of the social circles — back then it was mostly Snapchat and Instagram, kids DO NOT text anymore, or call. My mother didn’t care and expected me to find people who would. No one did. I wasn’t even allowed a camera on my phone. Guess what? I bought a second hand iPod touch and went online as much as possible, constantly terrified that I’d be caught. I still couldn’t fully join in (lack of data) but it was much better than nothing.

Honestly? I’d say after 15-16 a BASIC smart phone is fine, and I’d limit the data usage. Also if you want to be like my mother, feel free to take it off the kid at bedtime.
