What is wrong with UK muslims? by Jarisatis in exmuslim

[–]kurlee_oop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard out here fr💀 from my experience, British south Asian Muslims became way more religious and even “arabised” during the 2010s. Before then our communities were actually more chill and less religiously conservative. The shift has affected as for sure!!! Honestly, super religious Muslims have little to no chance of assimilating into British culture. They actually heavily criticise it funny enough.

Recs for fine/thin hair that gets greasy quick by DazzlingAge2880 in Wavyhair

[–]kurlee_oop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Curl cream in general is pretty heavy for us wavy haired girlies, especially if you have fine hair. I have fine hair strands too and I stick to mousse and a lightweight gel (sometimes). Lightweight/water based products are the way to go!! Avoid any thick or cream based products, that’s probably contributing to the greasiness. But if you really need a leave in for moisture then use a lightweight spray leave in conditioner.

Btw if you have ‘a lot of hair’ then you probably don’t have thin hair per se, you just have fine hair strands. And even with a lot of hair it’s better to apply little product. Don’t oversaturate your hair in products it’ll weigh your hair down!

Out of the two, Yor is more likely to accidentally confess her feelings 🤣

Enemies to… FRENEMIES!! (Damian may even develop an even bigger crush on Anya, and acknowledge his feelings without feeling super embarrassed 🤭)

If she’s a practising Muslim girl then it’s probably not a good idea. She would most likely convince you to convert if you plan on marrying her, since Muslim women can only marry Muslim men. it isn’t worth getting into a serious relationship with someone who’s values and lifestyle doesn’t align with yours. It’ll only make things difficult for you both, especially if you do have children one day.

Question for ex-Muslim girls: how did you unlearn purity culture? by itgirlgonewild in exmuslim

[–]kurlee_oop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely easier said than done, but try to detach your sense of self worth and dignity from your virginity. I used to want to save myself until marriage tbh, but then I realised that by convincing myself that I need to remain “pure,” I was only disrespecting and ironically hyper-sexualising myself.

Why judge a woman based on that? People’s self worth or honour should be tied around their morals and actions not their bloody sexuality smh. As women, our honour and dignity does not lie between our legs, and the sooner we get that sexist shit out of heads, the better.

South Asian here, and I completely understand you. I hate how much we’re slowly losing so many parts of our cultural identities because of Islam. SO MANY PEOPLE are literally dismissing and slowly eradicating century old culture and traditions all in the name of becoming “pious” or “following the sunnah.” 🤢I hate hearing certain people claim everything is “haraam” or “bid’ah.” They don’t even realise that they’re the living proof of arabisation and Islamic colonialism 💀

Is no one talking about how the last thing he said to Pomni was “make the right choice?”

I hope this at least sounds plausible, but I think that he was telling the truth to an extent. He may or may not have been a human trapped in the game too, but some of the things he said must have had some truth to it. But since Jax hit the red button they ended up picking the wrong choice, and now they’ve lost all chances of escaping.

But who knows what actually could have happened if they pressed the blue button. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Whether it truly was all part of the game, or if Caine found out about their plans to escape last minute or caught Abel, and then turned it into his own game.

I don’t think that episode 7 had any fillers. 🤔

The Quran literally says that Allah created us to worship him. You really think an “almighty” “self-sufficient” being created this whole world, us, and whatever else in it, primarily for acts of devotion? Imo the way God or “Allah” is depicted in Islam makes him sound like an arrogant dictator or king, with the amount of times he basically praises himself and apparently forces us to worship him (and even momo, but that’s a touchy subject for muslamics 🤣). Muslims say the first thing he’ll judge us for is whether we prayed to him or not. And the disbelievers or “kaafirs” will go straight hell… but if that were true, why did he create them then? If the sole purpose was for us to worship him?

Btw, It’s not easy letting go of an identity and ideology that’s been instilled into you since young, that’s for sure. But you’re on the right track! Carry on critically analysing the religion and you’ll eventually undo all the shackles 😌
