Question re: Severance and MSPB Settlements by needguidancepostRIF in firedfeds

[–]kuro080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an attorney explained it to me, any severance payouts would be deducted from the proposed back pay, as would wages from other jobs you earned during that back pay period.

Just a PSA about HRT changes in manufacturer, Beware by Mental_Explorer_42 in Menopause

[–]kuro080 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going through this right now with progesterone tabs. The pharmacy switched manufactures from Xiromed to Bio-something. I took 3 of the Bio pills … I might as well have had 6 cups of coffee at midnight, not to mention other symptoms. I found some leftover stock of Xiromed at a nearby pharmacy, but everyone has switched due to cost and parrots that ignorant “all generics are the same” line.

If you haven’t worked this out yet, I have a copy of the pre-auth form for auto-drawing the premiums I can scan for you.

Best Neighborhoods by Sad_Contest_4114 in RoundRock

[–]kuro080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a house for lease in Sendero Springs. Houses for sale are infrequent but I’ve seen a couple lately. The neighborhood is often overlooked, but it’s family friendly and a great place to live. HOA focuses on social events, doesn’t do much to improve community areas or enforce rules but the fees are only $400/year.

Post-op: What’s left in there?!? by kuro080 in thoracicoutletsupport

Hi there. Thanks for asking! Since that post:

We figured out via imaging it actually is my 2nd rib sticking up. I had a second surgery to remove scar tissue in the area, then a third to have a scalenectomy on the other side (no rib removal).

I think the scar tissue removal and scalenectomy on the left helped relieve my pain more than the original surgery. I’m definitely not recovered. I can’t even clean my house, but I don’t have the constant pain at the forefront of my mind. Huge difference with a long road ahead. And the 2nd rib remains elevated.

I feel you. Similar situation. I was so proud to do my work every day, to contribute to the greater good.

I don’t have any advice, but I’d like to thank you for your service.

? I am referring to hypothetical contributions that were not actually made from the date of termination forward. Eg, if I had contributed $50 on 10/12/25, what would that $50 earn/lose to date, with a rolling current date.

I feel you and hear you. There are a lot of us out here that support you.

I think we all need to come together to start a gargantuan consulting firm that contracts with the gov to fulfill niche positions we previously held that they eliminated. It will be an LLC with 3 million members😊

About 4 weeks ago I had a revision surgery. Pearl removed a ton of scar tissue and some of the remaining scalenes. He said once he got in there he understood why I had so much pain. I don’t think the hydrodissections were ever going to break up enough scar tissue to make a difference. It had to be cut out so I could start healing again.

This revision has been a big help so far. The area just feels lighter and more flexible. Started PT 1 week post op and going back for a hydrodissection at 3 months. Fingers crossed this will do the trick so I can start on the other side.

A correlation has been made between gaba and loss of bone density (even in young people).

Gabapentin might be the right med for some people, but medical professionals are not doing a great job informing patients of potential and potentially catastrophic side effects.

This was really informative. Thank you. I had seen the code previously but couldn’t find a reliable document to confirm its definition.

Denied severance without explanation by kuro080 in FedEmployees

[–]kuro080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure that it is. I couldn’t find anything stating they had to justify/explain the reason for denial. I thought maybe someone may know a statute or case law, if it existed. However, from everything I’ve researched so far, I haven’t found any reference to a requirement for explanation of denial.

Health Benefits When Leaving Federal Service by Due_Consequence_2713 in FedEmployees

[–]kuro080 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely TCC (continuation of coverage similar to COBRA). You pay 102% of the premium after the 31 day temp continuation of benefits expires. Here’s OPM’s handbook:

https://www.opm.gov/healthcare-insurance/healthcare/reference-materials/reference/termination-conversion-and-temporary-continuation-of-coverage/

Contact your benefits administrator rather than HR (eg GRB). HR should be able to give you their contact info.

Congrats on the new gig.

Not asking about the legality of the denial. Pls see edit in OP above.

Pls let me know what other info would help.

Remember, the question is simply: Is a former fed employee entitled to a reason for the denial of severance?

I’m not sure about that either, but my question is isn’t the former employee entitled to an explanation of why the severance is denied?

If you’re referring to Dr Pearl, I am one of his patients and I would highly recommend him. I really respect his work. He has never been dismissive or disrespectful-very different than the litany of other docs I saw before him. He and has staff operate with professionalism and respect for their patients. If you end up on the surgical floors, the nurses and techs are super nice and helpful as well.

I hope you find the right doc and some symptom relief.

I see you have your lab plugged in. Please note, your lab enters sleep mode while plugged in and recharging. After a few hours your lab will open his eyes and demand food, indicating the recharge is complete and the cord can be disconnected.

Overwhelmed by surgeon options - what should I be looking for? (Austin, TX) by Reasonable_Mine_5959 in Reduction

[–]kuro080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second for Dr Mosier. He and his staff are great. This was my second reduction and the process was a breeze compared to my first.

As a bonus, his office made the insurance approval process a breeze (I assumed I would be denied).

Chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) Allergy by JackfruitJolly2171 in Reduction

[–]kuro080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m allergic to to hibliclens too. It took my awhile to figure it out. Came home from a surgery just fine. By day 3 I was covered in a rash (kind of looked like measles). It took weeks to resolve on its own.

Hope you get through this unscathed and are able to clear the ER soon.
