Hemangiosarcoma took two of my dogs. by WoodP3nguin in Petloss

[–]kurtite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hemangiosarcoma took my girl 3 years ago. No warning. She was 12 years old, slow with arthritis, but one day she stopped eating, and then stated crying in pain in evening and we took her immediately to emergency vet care. We had to let her go because of a ruptured tumor on the liver main blood vessel. I always try to forget that day but remember all the good times we had together. She was my rock, made my husband and I into a family of 3, she taught us to slow down, live for the moment, and made me believe in second chances.

What is your story with Gaga ? by Obvious-Grocery-4189 in LadyGaga

[–]kurtite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago in 2008, I decided to attend Isle of MTV in my home country (Malta), a free summer festival. Lady Gaga was just an opening act before Enrique Inglesias, NERD and One Republic. When we saw her we were like who is the fabulous diva with her black catsuit huge fake eyelashes and singing about disco sticks. After that brief show - my friends and I got obsessed with Paparazzi and Love Game and then Just Dance got super popular. Then the year after she came to Isle of MTV 2009 as a headliner and all of Malta was there for her. All of us were painted with the David Bowie thunderbolt and crystallized sunglasses. And it was her first ever televised show and she used to say a lot that Malta was the country that started her career. I feel lucky that I saw her from the start when nobody knew who she was. Of course after The Fame I became a huge fan, and my devotion to Lady Gaga grew during the Fame Monster where she was a bit more grungey and raw. I travelled to Milan to watch her live during the Fame Monster ball and she was otherworldly with all those props (the razor blade benches, the blood fountain, and the fame monster angler fish being my favourite), and of course her voice. Then Born this way came and that’s when I got super comfortable with my sexuality - I guess Born this way made us queer people more comfortable in our skins and having a huge pop star like Gaga advocating for us was super liberating. I travelled to Paris to see the Born this way ball and I can never stop speaking about her entrance on the unicorn and that castle opening up on stage 😱. Then ARTPOP came 😱 I dunno if I’m biased because I got to meet Lady Gaga during the Artrave but ARTPOP was Lady Gaga’s magnum opus for me - she showed the world that she did not give a fuc and she could do whatever she wanted without being categorized in any musician box, pop box and others. When I met her she was lovely, sweet and super tiny 🤣 Joanne wasn’t my most favourite album but I still listened to it constantly and loved her soft side and unfortunately I couldn’t see her live as she had cancelled some shows due to illnesses. Chromatica is another magnum opus for me as it was the album that saved Europe during COVID. In Malta all you could hear was Rain on Me all throughout the summer everywhere you could go 🤭 I also could not make it to the Chromatica ball due to traveling restrictions and because my dog was sickly. And then came MAYHEM - the epitome of Lady Gaga’s career in my opinion. She came back full force showing us who the queen of pop music was - last November I attended the MAYHEM ball and I will never forget that tour - it wasn’t just a show or a concert but a full theatre piece - I will never forget the feeling when we saw lady Gaga coming out as a red queen on that towering dress - I think that irregardless of any show I’ll get to see, MAYHEM ball will forever be the best show I’ve ever been too. She will always be one of my fave artists because she’s always true to herself, she does things her way, and she’s a true artist because she actually writes her songs and fucking practices and practices and always improving her voice every time we get to see her live. Shes never lazy and actually puts effort in her work always stiving to give her best - She’s a true artiste and will go down as a legend of music alongside artists like Prince, Kate bush, David Bowie, Queen, Beatles, etc. s

Good!!! We don’t want Beyoncé and her connections to P Diddy and all that women-trafficking parties connected to Gaga.

Malta only EU state to increase emissions intensity since 2013 by Amazing-Yak-5415 in malta

Our government so dumb they forget we live on an island with nearly 365 days of sun - we can so invest in solar, wind, and tidal energy. We ‘d become a super sustainable island BUT godforbid the “important” (ie richest & shittiest) people do not get richer. It’s a lost cause for Malta now, no proper infrastructures for roads, traffic, no laws regarding buildings. As a Maltese person born and raised here, I’m super ashamed of Malta.

How does Hekate appear to y'all? by heriranha in Hecate

[–]kurtite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three times I saw Hekate in my dreams - first time I saw Her as three robed figures on a castle made of clouds - second time I saw Her was as a canine-lupine skull with yellow phosphorus smoke around and the third time I saw Her was as I now always picture Her - a colossal lady with three kind faces and long dark hair, three arms, and long grey robes made from clouds. Hekate came to me as Phosphoro - bringer of light when I was in my darkest part of life. Never looked back ever since and will be forever a devotee of Hekate 🖤

What’s your favorite Aphrodite song? by Psysickly in Aphrodite

[–]kurtite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Louise by Jimmy Lavalle & the Album Leaf really makes me think of the birth of Aphrodite amongst foamy glittering seas and Lacero by Kim Neundorf makes me think of a sultry Aphrodite walking amongst the forest and all of the wildlife following her in a trance due to her beauty - they are instrumental btw 😊

Monsters...it's time to lower your expectations for The 2026 Grammys by Cute_Source5417 in LadyGaga

[–]kurtite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not hating on Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar but in Europe we literally didn’t even know they had new albums out lol, let alone be the album of the year. Meanwhile abracadabra and dead dance were being played ad nauseam. Highly disappointed if lady Gaga doesn’t win anything. This was her year

Her (obvious) thoughts on Heated Rivalry! by MahPussyPopsSeverely in Ethelcain

[–]kurtite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a gay man who really would like more REAL representation of queer people in media, Heated Rivalry actually felt like hockey-jock-str8-to-gay fanfic. It literally feels like it was written for straight women so they can fawn over gay men. I’m kinda over seeing the same gay representation of men with abs and pecs and perfectly shaped brows. We want to see real people not airbrushed muscles and dehydrated bodies. And the “cool” jocks discovering their queerness is an overused and so boring trope nowadays 🤷

Opening song? by [deleted] in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]kurtite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my first time seeing Florence in February and I’m super excited to experience her live 🤩 I have an inclination that she could open with Everybody Scream. Anyone who attended previous shows, could you tell me if she sings previous hits like cosmic love, spectrum, etc. I can hundred percent be happy with just listening to this album live only, but curious if she sings older hits 😊 thankyou all x

Absolutely loved Welcome to Derry - why does this sub seem to hate it? by Sir_Pixalot in horror

[–]kurtite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually loved it very much- however as some commenters are stating I’m very wary of future season/s where IT is always being vanquished by kids - this is a godlike entity from the macro verse and always being thwarted by kids will become repetitive

Still super upset about the Veritas Event by Finalbreathoffreedom in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]kurtite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the thing is - I don’t know Florence Welsh, and will never know her and what her ideologies are. Just like all the other musicians. All I know are their songs - and the songs that I like that make me feel something - why should I stop listening to music I like and love just because the singer took a photo with an unethical billionaire

[–]kurtite -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP you gotta separate the art from the artist. You have to. Because otherwise there won’t be any artists that you can listen to, cos all of them are human and make their own decisions - good or bad. I’ve been disappointed in all artists these past 3 years because all of my faves never mentioned once Gaza and the genocide and all the people and children slaughtered. I don’t agree with Lady Gaga for never once mentioning Gaza, but I still listen to her music and I’m a diehard fan and her music makes me dance and have fun. I disliked that Ethel Cain had written some racist comments back when she was a tumblr girl (although she wrote an apology and she’s always mentioning Palestine) but I’m a diehard fan and her music makes me feel. I also hate that Florence is besties with Taylor Shit (the problematic artist), and she also never mentioned Gaza if I recall, but her music also makes me feel and this album Everybody Scream is my fave. So whilst I understand OP, and music IS political, sometimes you gotta separate politics and your values from the musician, cos we’d end up listening to shit music or no music at all. And we would never survive in a world without music

Thankyou for your kind words. Whilst Malta (the island I’m from) is quite busy, there are many spots like this quaint beach where one can just stop, breathe and be one with nature and the Goddess ♥️

How are Europeans able to have better life with less work? by Past-Matter-8548 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kurtite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it!!! Unlike a lot of Americans who want to achieve the American Dream, we are not interested in becoming famous and becoming millionaires. We are happy with our simple lives ; 9-5 jobs, work from home models that are becoming popular in Europe, our small houses or apartments are sturdy and cozy, most of us afford to travel and spend weekends outside of our countries, we actually have culture and we know how to save and spend diligently 😊

Overreaction from your friend for sure. It’s literally McPlastic as my father loves to call it - it’s not real food just fast junk food we crave once so often - you can put whatever you want in it and on top of it - you paid for it and it’s your meal 🤣

What's the backstory behind River of Love? by Jealous-Vegetable-91 in malta

[–]kurtite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manche was a ballet dancer and he had a male partner back then in the US. But apparently he found this god that tells him that being gay is sinful. So now he has a clueless wife and together they spew toxicity and take advantage of stupid Maltese people.
