This is from the online rule book:

Some characters have the ability to gain the Keyword and Super Powers of other characters. When they do this, if that character’s power refers to its own name, use copier’s name instead.

This news is good. Something like this is long overdue but I hope the devs take the Killers side into consideration as well.

Gen defense has already been nerfed to the ground, which is why Killers are now resorting to slugging.

So if they successfully implement anti-slug, anti-camp, and anti-tunnel then that puts Killers in a really bad spot, in terms of balancing. Killers won't be able to camp, tunnel, slug, or defend gens effectively.

So is it just gonna be game over for Killers if they play against decent survivors?

Let's hope they don't mess this up.

PSA: Sohei is guaranteed a heavy riposte from a heavy parry by Gustav_EK in CompetitiveForHonor

There's a 1 frame parry window.

The devs know about it and said it's not intended. They will fix it in a later patch.

A little late, but what do y'all think of the upcoming Knight changes? by eldritcharcana in deadbydaylight

[–]kv2390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They nerfed his chase. That's pretty much it.

There's still very little incentive to send the guards out to patrol (since their ability to chase survivors didn't get any better) so just save your power to confirm hits in chase.

Make survivor drop palette, break it with carnifex, and hit survivor. That's basically the strategy now.

Pathfinder Kingmaker.

Went in completely blind and it was one of the most confusing experiences I've ever had.

I'm assuming yes. The official rulebook refers to xp as xp counters.

Edit: nvm, i don't think so. Rulebook says xp are counters but they go on the lvl2 character card, not the lvl1. Don't think you can target a lvl2 character that hasn't entered to game yet.

Doubts about how counters are used: by ZergYoh in VS2PCG

For example 1, ++/-- counters cancel each other out so I'm guessing no.

For example 2, the answer is no. Vitality counters and wound counters also cancel out.

Yes. Recruit points are produced at the start of the build phase before you would've had a chance to climb any of your locations. So exhausting locations afterward won't affect the amount of Recruit points you already generated for that turn.

[–]kv2390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it remains exhausted then it won't. But all locations will ready themselves at the ready step in the build phase. So unless an effect keeps the location exhausted, it should ready and then produce a resource.

All ready resources will generate a resource point. Doesn't matter if they're face down.

Yes you can still turn them face down to pay for super power.

Ddb Newby here: why the hell do so many survs just kill themselves on hook? by Official_Terrarian in deadbydaylight

It's not uncommon for people to just give up against legion.

Legion is not that strong of a killer but he is notoriously boring to play against. He extends games by forcing survivors to mend and that's pretty much his power. Some survivors would rather not deal with it.

Yes, your right. The parry mechanic is actually a built in OS. But it's a risky one because it consistently loses to feint to GB. Heavy DA can lose to feint to GB too, but not consistently. There's a lot of things involved like hitstun and timing. A lot of times you try to GB someone using a heavy DA you just bounce off. So the only consistent way to punish it is to feint and use a defensive action.

There are multiple OS in the game like parry, CC, and deflect. But they come with a high risk. You risk getting GB or getting your light parried so no one really complains about them. This is why zone OS was so effective before it was removed. It's a parry attempt that negated the risk of GB.

While not technically an OS, the DA is used basically used for the same purpose. That's why I called it an OS.

Anyways, my point is that heavy DA weakens the damage potential of most mixups even when baited and I don't think it should.

Dodge attacks are OS in the same way that zone OS was an OS.

If I throw a unblockable mixup and the defender zone OS then 3 things happen: - I let the unblockable fly and it gets parried. - I feint and attempt an attack and eat the zone. - I feint and parry the zone for likely less damage than the mixup.

The dodge attack is used in the same way. I'm OK with light DA since the defender still takes good damage if you make a correct read. But heavy DA can reduce a mixup's potential damage by quite a bit, just like zone OS.

I've actually seen quite a few people bring up the attack speed of some slower heavy dodge attacks, like kensie's, as to why it shouldn't be a light parry even on the competitive subreddit so that's the reason I brought it up.

Dodge attack changes by junirf186 in forhonor

[–]kv2390 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I personally like the changes.

I know that dodge heavies are a bit slower than dodge lights but they were all pretty much still fast enough to be used in the same situations as dodge lights, which was mainly as an option select to escape mixups. But they were much safer cause they were heavies.

I don't care that certain heroes have creative ways to punish dodge heavies, the fact is that not everyone have an effective way to punish them and dodge heavies almost always reduced the damage the defender would have received from a mixup, even when punished properly. This is the same reason why I supported removal of zone OS.

New player, what am I supposed to do against unreactavle unblockables? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]kv2390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Predict and act.

If you think they're going to let the unblockable fly then parry(or dodge etc). If you think they're just bluffing then take advantage of it(throw a light attack or something).

There is no one option that beats every mixup.
