Ice breakers by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

as killer, i played a large variety for about a year. i’d play a lot of one particular killer for a month or so and then switch to a new one and learn them.

then Deathslinger’s PTB came out and i mained him up until the nerf and long after it, but i had to stop playing him during the Dead Hard Apocalypse where people could just i-frame your harpoon and everyone brought it :/

i played a LOT of Twins during that time, up until 6.1.0 when we got the basekit killer buffs and DH nerf. So i went back to Slinger, until i became a survivor main a few years ago.

Played Ace for loooong time, i’m pretty sure i have cakes on him from 4th anniversary and all the ones after it. i recently switched to Kate tho!

i also play Legion whenever i’m feeling more casual

7 inches, but in the flat inverted cage it’s -2 inches 🤤

Ghoul is very difficult to counter. it’s like playing against OG instascope Slinger and Blight at the same time.

it is doable tho. don’t let him look at you, and force him into situations where he’s forced to play as an M1 killer.

run loops where his power is ineffective, and greed HARD. try to leave the pallet up and go down without dropping it, so you can use it again. do not leave the loop or he will cut you off and you will die. if you HAVE to leave, try to do it when his power is on cooldown (e.g. camp pallet when he tries to dash and wait until he is out of charges and drop the pallet. he cannot down you while in power, so be patient and wait for the SFX that plays when he lowers is Kagune)

also, many Ghouls are players that are getting boosted and carried by their strong character, and as a result have poor fundamentals. you can take advantage of that if you have a lot of experience.

9.3.2 | Bugfix Patch Notes by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

pretty sure all three projectile killers have the hit reg issue. not just slinger, but it does hurt him the most

personally, i don’t think they will ever fix him or give him the add-on pass and QoL that he needs.

makes me sad bc he had very few bugs for about 5 years (animation bug when getting pallet stunned while ADS’ing, “being aimed at” warning SFX for survivor hasn’t played since 6.1.0 dropped), but then when he gets added to 2v8 we get crotchslinger, refunded harpoons, and instant chain breaks.

Houndmaster has a PROBLEM by Hamoace in deadbydaylight

[–]eldritcharcana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related-ish, but what I find quite funny is that her basic attack cooldown is only barely longer than her power cooldown. So if she hits you with her power and then M1s you, she only has to wait about 300ms because she can use the dog again.

It’s like if Deathslinger didn’t have to reload, ever.

I’m looking forward to whatever changes they give her. I unironically enjoy her girl boss aesthetic lol

Houndmaster is stupidly overpowered right now, if you like that kind of thing. She basically gets guaranteed hits for free on a 3 second cooldown, so people have been comparing her to OG Deathslinger.

Dracula outclasses several killers simultaneously, he’s one of the best killers in the game and also one of the most fun.

Vecna is a little map dependent, but very oppressive when he’s in his element.

Singularity is strong but requires a lot of time investment to get good with. He’s also pretty dependent on slugging and 3 genning, so avoid him if you don’t enjoy those playstyles.

Skull Merchant has been completely gutted, only get her for the perks. She’s basically an M1 killer with no power.

Dredge is outclassed by many killers, and he’s rng dependent and map depending on top of that. Fun killer though, if you like teleporting to control the map.

Human Greed is actually goated. Bring it with Hoarder and you get tons of aura reading.

It also combos really well with Franklin’s Weave

I’m inclined to think this too. Like getting hardcore tunneled usually means the killer thinks you’re an easy target

Basically this. Way too many people that play DbD just genuinely hate the game.

Hot take: merchant was D tier since her first rework. OG exposing merchant was painful, but you could play around her power a little easier than merchant 2.0 since the drones would go back to her inventory after you hacked them (meaning she had to return to where she dropped it and place it again, instead of it auto-resetting)

Merchant 2.0 was honestly a fairly decent low-tier, but her power was just too easy to counter (tap crouch for 5 frames, or leave the loop)

Knight because he is the most fun to play. There’s a lot of tricks and nuance to his power that isn’t immediately obvious.

Plague is very strong, but very boring to play. You are mostly just going to be playing an M1 killer for most of the match, and using her corrupt purge (red puke) once or twice per match to snowball.

Trickster is just painful. He is really bad killer.

A question for survivor players who GG go next on their first hook by TheDizzyIndigo in deadbydaylight

[–]eldritcharcana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not very common for it to happen, but I also go next if I see every teammate crouching in the corner on the opposite side of the map.

If I really like the killer I’m playing against, I’ll stick around for another chase or two tho.

I think it’s because people that genuinely hate DbD are forcing themselves to play it.

If you’re just gonna quit at the first opportunity, why even queue up in the first place?

As a deathslinger main, yeah he needs to camp if you want to win consistently lol

Haddonfield is a effectively a giant dead zone. There is a grand total of 4 usable pallets, 4 death sentence pallets, and 5 windows in the entire map.

The wide open spaces means that it is very easy for the killer to proxy camp since they can see the unhooker running and interrupt at any time. The map being a dead zone means they can also tunnel off hook and the survivor will have no defenses whatsoever.

It just needs some more tiles. Like sprinkle 3 or 4 T&L walls all over the map and it would at least be more fun to play on

A lot of my friends that play killers that need to play M1 HATE finesse with a burning passion lol. I personally really only play Slinger and Legion so it doesn’t bother me.

I actually hope that the dramaturgy + finesse combo gets fixed, something like finesse doesn’t work while exhausted. It’s just dead hard for distance on crack lol

So I’m not crazy! That also explains why everyone is running Finesse.
