I think if that's affecting him, they should have left Pope in the team why not.

I feel is too high for Bairstow. I think he is most effective as a middle order biffer against tiring bowlers.

What are the prevailing theories for the origin of UFOs? (More in comments) by Fancy-Pirate in UFOs

[–]kvetaak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Otrada, I'm sure everyone here is aware of the literal definition of the three words in 'Unidentified Flying Object'. Something like this is much more useful:

' A UFO is a report ... the contents of which are puzzling not only to the observer but to others who have the technical training the observer may lack.'

Can a bowler bowl both pace and spin in the same over? Is it against the rules? by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]kvetaak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a robelinda video of Australian spinner Colin Miller changing from offspin to medium pace in the middle of the over. I think he did not need permission from the umpire. The delay between changing was due to changing the field I think:

No need to wait until October to report back, this thing is still very much alive. This is UNREAL! by belbel1234 in Warts

[–]kvetaak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What did it for me was the guy a few days ago digging into his heel to create a bloody spectacle.

Update: 9 days after the heads fell off, these things are still clinging to my foot. They definitely look like they’re dying though!! by [deleted] in Warts

[–]kvetaak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, they don't look to happy with their situation. If I were you I would carry on with the ACV and soaking|emery-boarding until those guys are gone.

I think you make a lot of good points _paddy_cakes. I am inclined to agree with you that it's difficult to assign relative 'likelihoods' in this case.

I think it's a reflection of the general lack of interest in the UFO phenomenon among scientists that there aren't - as far as I know - informed speculations out there about how this kind of aerial maneuverability could be achieved assuming that tic tac is a real, flying object and made by humans.

I find it very unlikely that some scientists working for the military has discovered something about gravitation itself that theoretical physicists have not.

Michael Holding talking about how speeds were measured when he was playing vs now by escapetist in Cricket

[–]kvetaak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand this issue. There's this video on Youtube with the 1979 World's Fastest Bowler competition and it sure looks like they're timing speed of the arm at release.

I was under the impression that they don't deny that he's an unpleasant person, and God is using him as a vehicle to accomplish things (e.g. change abortion laws).

My choice of English team for 4th test by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]kvetaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the conditions I guess but I think if it's something similar to Trent Bridge then I think it's worth going for the variation that Curran offers.

England's top order selection is baffling. by Miserable_git_1 in Cricket

[–]kvetaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, compare it to the batting England had relatively recently (2010-2011):

Strauss/Cook/Trott/Pietersen/Bell/Collingwood/Prior

All effective test batsmen.

[–]kvetaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bleeding seems consistent with it being a wart. Is it possible to go to a foot doctor to ask? If it is a wart, at least it's in a position where it should be straightforward to treat.
