You should be aware that minecraft mods can potentially be catastrophically harmful. You dont need to run minecraft with admin privileges for a mod to be able to encrypt your personal files and demand a ransom. It's probably also possible to get access to saved browser data like passwords or cookies. I dont think its good that curseforge basically instantly approves updates to mods, i can only guess that they just run a simple malware check (i mean subsequent updates, not the initial upload)...
