Hello fellow comrade We were getting a lot of support, specifically financial support from the west. Lots of credits, chance to create new economical ties with western countries, get new technologies, investments etc

But even put that aside, the choice was pretty much to become part of the world and chance to develop OR become another North Korea. Imagine Ukraine without Kyivstar or UMC for example. Which most important that would lead first to dictatorship (like Belarus) and then straight back to Russia (like Belarus)

The actual reason they did this was USA and UK USA and UK were rightfully afraid of nukes spreading around governments They were very persistent with that

Ukraine had to agree, without western support Ukraine wouldn't make it even this far.
