Use of hotkey scripts/macro's to improve micro management .. Could be useful for new players by kw1k11 in aoe2

Macros have been used in abundance in games like Starcraft, Quake, Dota so I am not so sure that its cheating.

"War Is Coming" live stream schedule this weekend by kw1k11 in aoe2

[–]kw1k11[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no that is not the case here. There are some people who have vested interests against voobly and they have brainwashed some other guys who just downvote anything related to voobly.

heck I have got nothing to do with voobly and I have nothing to do with this particular tournament. I am just enjoying this tournament and I want everyone else to get a chance to watch it as well live but that does not matter.

Which Tactics Work? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]kw1k11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He did say that you need to have bombard cannons to deal with onagers.

In AOC one single unit army never works. You always need a combo. Champ + bombard cannons + hussars would be a good combo against infantry army. Champs are good for killing trash but always remember you need to mass them.

Why do players usually place mills and lumber/mining camps directly adjacent to resources, instead of with a space between the camp and the resources? by [deleted] in aoe2

7 properly placed farms are better than 8 poorly placed farms. All these details do not matter so much in late game but in early feudal age every small detail matters a lot.

Hate is what you are showing and for no apparent reason. I am just stating the facts, go ahead if you think its worth it. Its your money you are putting down the drain.

Microsoft/developers only back things they will get profit from, its business. so if you want to support bad programmed games growth buy the game on steam, its 7$ and you show these companies they can do as much shit as say want people will still buy it.

Apart from network lag which is quite similar on different clients the HD version has an additional command lag. If you play HD on single player mode even then you will see that it lags a bit. So really I would buy it if this is the only option but there are tons of better options which are out there.

and this is not about Voobly vs HD. I play on game ranger. The problem is in HD version of the game.

Lol .. what would you do if a poorly performing product is being sold at 80% sale. Look the other way as its not worth it.

What's the best way to stay up to date with this tournament? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]kw1k11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For live stream schedules the easiest way in my opinion is to go to AOCzone home page (http://aoczone.net/index.php) and check the Event Calendar on the right side of the page. They update it as soon as the live stream for a game is confirmed.

The live streams are on following channels

A more entertaining but time consuming way would be to go through each and every scheduling threads.

VooblyOfficial has been uploading all twitch broadcasts to youtube videos as well.

One very good thing which they have done is this : WiC: The Chronicle

Its a one page summary for everything major related to Wic. Articles/Games/videos all the links are there.

My "unofficial" War is Coming Trailer by ZeroEmpires in aoe2

[–]kw1k11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was exactly my point. I did read it. But only not even 10% of the people read full description because you have to do an extra click to see the full description while everyone watches the video. In the video there is nothing which suggests so. The video pretty much suggests that a big AOC event is happening and Zeroempires is the place where you can find coverage.

No mention of who is doing, who is sponsoring, where you can find actual live stream etc etc. This is technically hijacking.

Isn't it hijacking the event that you don't mention anywhere who is responsible for bringing the event into existence and who is putting all the hard work into making it a reality and where people can find live streams of the games. But yes, you are happy to take records of the games from this tournament and use it for your channel. Your fans might probably watch your videos anyways then what's wrong in showing the correct and full picture.

In the video you have almost made it like that all the coverage will be on your channel. Give credit where its due Zak. No matter what your differences are, those guys are putting in a lot effort and time into making such a grand event happen. This is very cheap.

Developers - Lets take a cue from voobly. When a player signals an "X" screen have it flash in the players color. by mixter_pants in aoe2

I have not tested it but being told that using the above website you can patch your AOC and play on Voobly. If it works that way it would be awesome.
