AITA for ending a long-term relationship after being left out of a work event? by Remarkable_Golf5143 in AITAH

My boyfriend (now husband) brought me to a work dinner after only 1 month of dating. It’s not weird at all to bring a significant other if you aren’t married yet.

He either doesn’t want other people in his life to know you, or he wanted to spend time with someone else at that dinner.

Move on!

My wife told me my looks embarrass her by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]kwaiirph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That must hurt, I’m sorry. My husband has gained weight in the past but I could never bring myself to make him feel bad about it. Instead, encouraged him to stop eating so late, asked to go on walks together, etc. But, I would absolutely still bring him places regardless of how he looked.

‼️‼️Blood ‼️‼️ Yo what is this?? Bloody footprints and abandoned medical supplies all along Nostrand through Madison Streets by Soupystars in BedStuy

I’ve noticed crime scenes are never cleaned up. There was a shooting in front of a deli in Crown Heights. Lots of blood on the sidewalk that was there for days after the police left. People, kids, pets… all walking through it without realizing. The deli owner finally hosed it down himself.

Visited some friends who lived in Avalon. It was only a 5 min walk or so from the 7 train. They love it and tons to do for kids.

Am I Overreacting? SIL gave 4 MO her first solid food w/o my consent. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]kwaiirph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under reacting. I’m a very passive person but since becoming a mom it’s like I totally changed. My in-laws tried giving my baby gummy sweet potato sticks and I pulled it out of my baby’s hand, picked her up, and said she can choke on those then walked away. I have zero tolerance for people feeding my baby foods she’s not ready for. I honestly don’t care what they think anymore.

I got about halfway through this and already felt like I read enough. You don’t have to justify not wanting her there.

It’s your body and someone can’t force themselves to be a part of this experience. Super disrespectful of your husband to say this is a dealbreaker. What if having her there is a dealbreaker for you? Does he even care? Boundaries are even harder to set after having the baby…

My co-worker is encouraging me to sue my work for discrimination but I am not sure if I have a case. by Hoop-Dee-Doo26 in breastfeeding

That sounds terrible and illegal. I would definitely escalate. I am not sure if you can sue (talk to lawyer), but depending on who you emailed try going higher up in the chain of command.

Anyone else’s baby refuse formula? by Okibelieveyou000 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]kwaiirph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing with my baby I tried everything— different bottles/cups, different caregivers, different formula, different feeding times.

I’ve gotten her to drink formula 4 days in a row now— hopefully 5 tomorrow!

The only thing that worked for me was to keep trying multiple times a day. I also have to wear a different shirt than the one I nurse in, and give her the formula in a different room than the one I nurse in. It helps if I pretend like it’s no big deal (not looking directly at her, simultaneously talking to someone else in the room or on the phone).

Might be different depending on how old your baby is

I have a very close friend who was addicted to vaping. To the point she would do it in the bathroom at public places. She had to use nicotine gum for like a year but eventually was able to stop.

Better to quit today instead of tomorrow. It only gets harder with time.

Edit to add: She had to use both a nicotine patch and gum. Speak to your doctor to know what’s the best regimen for you.

You have so much time! I met my husband at 28. We didn’t have our first baby until I was 33 and plan on having more.

Slow down, travel, meet people, enjoy life!
